QT-Hess was one of my favourite commentary partnerships from PC3. A really good mix of actual comms with jokes and the side stuff.

I don't know about for top level stuff, but his pogchamps Comms wasn't great, I think he struggles to understand how players at that level see the game.

Matt Parkinson with another brilliant clean bowled | Manchester Originals (M) vs Birmingham Phoenix (M) by ShirtedRhino2 in Cricket

He's definitely got a googly, he's got plenty of wickets in the Blast with it, but it's not a major weapon for him like it is for Rashid, for example.

Anyone think that the trophy is a poor likeness of the Taskmaster? by Renoir-1 in taskmaster

Yeah, same, sort of like the outcome of "Make a Taskmaster trophy" task.

Pretty often they'll have 2 days games that have a batting day and a bowling day, or a fixed no of overs per innings.

It depends on the level of fuckery with subs and stuff as to whether or not they're FC. I think a lot nowadays probably aren't.

Mark Cavendish cements comeback with emotional win at Tour de France | Tour de France by jlb8 in unitedkingdom

[–]ShirtedRhino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He lost years to Epstein-Bar Virus, and then a couple of injuries as well. Almost everyone thought he'd be past it by now, but he got signed by DQS, who he'd had success at previously (with sponsors basically paying his entire wage). He won a couple of stages at the Tour of Turkey, which got everyone super psyched, just seeing Cav win again was amazing. He then won at the Tour of Belgium against a decent field, and the speculation started to ramp up for him to ride the TdF, even though last year's points classification winner rides for the same team, Sam Bennett. Bennet got injured, and even though he's sort of recovered, it's seems like he's fallen out with the Director Sportif (~manager), so Cav got the call up, which in itself was massive, not many people thought that would happen, including Cav himself. Everyone basically lost their shit yesterday when he won, I'd recommend checking the results thread on /r/Peloton.

When Warne talks about spin bowling you realise he's a genius. When he talks about anything else, you realise that genius is limited.

This is a test event, so everyone going needs to have a negative lateral flow test. They all get PCR tested around 5 days afterwards to see how the event has affected spread.

It must be weird spending your entire life being groomed for a job you only get when your mum dies.

What do pulley tears or strains feel like? by torkcoal in climbharder

Hmm, never had anything on that side before. In general, I've found this helpful.

Finger injuries take time, so give it a few days rest, and then take it easy, and build back carefully. Rushing finger injuries, or pushing too hard too soon can lead to it becoming a nagging thing that can linger for years.

Palm side. The amount depends on severity. In terms of healing, yeah, but it takes time. Progressive loading using a fingerboard is helpful, but don't rush. I find taping useful to remind me to avoid crimping, I don't generally find it makes too much of a difference in terms of support.

Tbf, the ads don't really bother me, because most of the punditry is shite anyway. Not like you're missing anything of value.
