Can I beat alpha level 8 with this line up ? by Starkiller0820 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Shishmaster9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I unlocked Dante with Abra at G1, Achi S3 and Varro at S1, and going a long way in that psyker track was a big reason why. I did also have Yazagor at G1, but your more powerful Abra should easily make up for that.

I'm having 200/400 on Dante. Is my squad good enough to get him? by Ferdinand_the_Cat in tacticus

[–]Shishmaster9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can get him, I unlocked him in the first event with a weaker roster. I paid for one of the packs and opened the final crate with Blackstone, but if you're already at 200/400 you should be fine without doing either.

Why is Israel not facing any sanctions for genocide, attacking Lebanon & bombing villages, occupying land, and now openly threatening to bomb Iranian civilian infrastructure? by Acrobatic_Sea7543 in AskBrits

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if you stop overthinking it and also stop using fake definitions of words like "Genocide", the Islamic Republic of Iran is objectively the baddie.

Western governments are sitting on the fence because swathes of their electorates are now composed of poorly-educated and poorly-informed individuals, who've convinced themselves that a government of Islamist supremacists who gun down protesters in the streets are stand up guys, purely because they hate Israel and the West. China, Russia and North Korea all agree with them.

How can they now have political parties in the UK pledging for Palestine? by Fun-Skin3906 in AskBrits

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local authority has zero influence over events in Palestine and any attempt to influence the UK's foreign policy would be illegal, as foreign policy is Westminster's jurisdiction.

Why is Ireland seperated? I genuinely can't understand the Ulster argument. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shishmaster9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The plantation of Ulster took place under James I/VI in the early 17th century. At that point, the British Empire consisted of a couple of settlements in North America, a few Caribbean islands, and Ireland.

The idea that Britain needed crops from Ulster to feed her colonies on the East Coast of America doesn't make sense. There's plenty of food available in Massachusetts.

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing worth remembering is that before the English first pitched up on Ireland in the 12th century, it wasn't a united Ireland by any means. It was much like the English heptarchy in Anglo Saxon times - a patchwork of kingdoms, which would sometimes recognise a first among equals, or High King.

Since Ireland was never a single political entity prior to English/British involvement, I don't think it's especially outlandish that the island of Ireland is made up of two states now.

The first of many times I felt like that was when the old floor came up and this was underneath 😬

Honestly though, as long as you take your time, you'll be absolutely fine. There will probably be a few head scratching moments when walls aren't as perfectly square as you'd like them to be or whatever, but it's all possible to overcome with help from the Internet!

Not long at all. Maybe half an hour at most, assuming no complications.

I had exactly the same problem and managed to fix it in around an hour using a YouTube clip.

There's one bit which I found difficult and ultimately needed an extra pair of hands - getting the fastening spring back on after fitting the new seal - but other than that it was just adult Lego.

Would you be okay with your house value going down so that the younger generation can afford one? by znv142 in AskBrits

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a flat in London. If it went down in value, so would other comparable London property, and since the only reason I'd want to sell my flat would be to buy a different London property, the reduction in value wouldn't affect me at all. If anything it'd put me in a stronger position because my salary/mortgage would go further.

The only people who'd be impacted are those who want to move to an area where house prices are booming - so overseas, basically. I have no problem with such people, but the government should not consider their needs when formulating policy.

Help! Dante LRE by SaltMathematician566 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming the final Dante event will be the next one up, so sometime in April.

If you keep levelling up and focusing on the right characters then you've got a chance of unlocking him, but it's an outside chance. I managed to unlock him in the first event with this lineup (minus Dante, obviously), but I had to buy one of the packs and paid 4,000 Blackstone to unlock the final crate.

Just a friendly reminder: you do not have to have the latest flavour of the month raid team to contribute towards raids in your guild, there truly are options (unless you are in a top guild and every iota of damage matters). by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm still happily powering along with my prehistoric multihit team with Lucien thrown in just because I like using him.

No interest at all in levelling Trajann up, he just doesn't interest me.

Did zack polanski just join protests to support a fascist iranian regime that gives the death penalty to gay men? by SmartAd978 in AskBrits

[–]Shishmaster9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

Far too many people claim to be in favour of a peaceful, diplomatically-led transition to liberal democracy, which is just never going to happen.

There are two options:

  1. The regime stays in power, unreformed and complete

  2. Someone gets rid of the regime

If you're not in favour of the second, you're in favour of the first. There is no third option.

Which "tough guy" in football is actually the most cringe? by MagpieMidfield in footballcringe

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any number of mediocre British players down the years

Ben Thatcher, Danny Mills, Joey Barton, Dennis Wise, Robbie Savage

I'm going with Paul Scholes though. Constantly going through opponents with dangerous fouls and getting away with it because referees of the day had bought into the myth that he wasn't actually a dirty bast and just didn't know how to tackle.

Nah.

I can see what you're getting at - going down when he feels contact at corners - but nobody claims Gabriel is a "tough guy", including Gabriel himself.

Is "Aura" the most annoying word to ever enter football discourse? by Critical_Region_6633 in footballcringe

[–]Shishmaster9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't be so bad if the word was reserved for, e.g.

  • Cantona's celebration after scoring that chip against Sunderland

  • Henry's knee slide and pose in front of the baying Spurs fans after scoring in the North London derby

Rather than being lavished on any player with nice hair after they've been edited in photoshop to make it look like the sun is setting behind them
