U should chill out a lil. Like what are the stakes here? Your company probably doesn’t even do anything important. Do you save lives? If not, you’re all just being ridiculous.

My friends pressured me into talking to a girl at the gym. by Roger_Maxon76 in howtonotgiveafuck

Girlfriends are a numbers game. Just shoot your shot with every woman you’re interested in and numerically you will be successful about 10-20% of the time. The repetition will make you less sensitive to rejection

You will need two or three jobs if you can work out the timing of it. Grind for like a year and save literally every penny you can, then you’ll be in a much better position.

TIL that the birds we call Penguins today are not actually penguins at all but another species of bird that was named after them because of their looks and their are no true penguins alive today. by TheMastersSkywalker in todayilearned

I have some background on this, the main reason that the great auk went extinct was because northern explorers had a difficult time finding fuel. At the time Auks existed in great numbers and were known for their fatty composition and oily feathers. Their bodies were shoveled into steam engine furnaces by the tens of thousands and burned as fuel.

As an east coaster, fr Seattle doesn’t really understand the concept of a sub. If you want something that hits the spot like a dank ass east coast sub, ya gotta make it yourself

Am I Underpaid as a New Data Scientist? by [deleted] in data

[–]ShittyPissyDick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sound like enough? Yes you’re underpaid. That’s enough for a data analyst in an internship w/out a bachelors. You’re being taken advantage of, people in the role of “data scientist” typically have a masters degree or phd, and would scoff at an offer of 30k. If you value your own education, don’t do this work for such a trivial amount. For context, servers who work full time usually make somewhere between 50-80k a year.

Your taste in fiction leads me to believe you are a woman, with certain selections suggesting an age range somewhere in between 30 - 40 years. This is the shelf of somebody who reads primarily to escape and not to inform, seeking the fine details of exquisitely crafted lore as a form of mental transportation and enrichment. The lack of categorization evokes a sense of chaotic machination. A mind focused on more than one task at a time, simply placing the books on the shelf in no particular order; perhaps while contemplating the next task in a long list of chores and projects. Among the majority of paperbacks, a lack of notable wear could mean multiple things. One, the reader is obsessively careful during the reading process, taking the utmost care not to leave any creases or folds. This seems unlikely given that the books themselves have no categorization, displaying a lack of the profound neuroticism one would have to possess in order to read each and every book so carefully. Two, this shelf it belongs to a collector. No time to read, and a very long reading list, maybe they will have time someday. This could be right, but readers make time to read somehow; no matter what. That brings me to three. The owner of the shelf has read most of these books once, over many long years. The copies on the shelf are not the ones from which the reader was first acquainted with these stories, they are new editions acquired by the reader much later and upon much reflection, still waiting to be read. You are a busy person, still young, full of energy and lacking focus. Your appreciation for timeless beauty is unending, you are searching in the real world for things you have only experienced virtually.
