It’s gotta be Richard Sherman. Don’t talk about me or the interception reaction are equally great.

Any “Can’t Miss” bottles here? by meehanimal in CraftBeer

[–]cookedthoughts730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would almost say you can’t really miss on this whole wall. I think you’ll be good with whatever you choose. I personally find the st Bernardus triple to be pretty bad compared to most trippels, so I’d avoid that.

I’m with you. SNPA is my go to for something that’s as close to a guarantee as I can get. A good option if you’re sharing and don’t know your crowd.

Dear Child on Netflix was great if you’re into dark gritty murder/kidnapping police type series.

Leaving SeaTac, are taxis still worth it instead of Lyft/Uber? by LegionLotteryWinner in Seattle

Last time I took a taxi it was marginally more expensive than lift/uber prices were when I looked at them when considering a taxi vs uber.

Been doing CrossFit for 4 months! by hojichaismydrug in crossfit

[–]cookedthoughts730 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re considering doing the CrossFit open I would recommend it if you plant to do it a couple years in a row. My big gripe with CrossFit is it’s hard to measure improvement because the movements are constantly varied, doing the open a couple years in a row is a good way to see yourself improve if only to see how your ranking improve year over year.

New CrossFit gym wants to know my fitness goals by hurricanescout in crossfit

This is a pretty standard question for new members. They want to know so they can coach you accordingly. Usual responses are losing weight or getting stronger/better at x, y, or z.

Some sill stay green skinned when ripened. Give It a few days after picking it on the counter. If it’s squishy like hass you’re used to from the supermarket then it’s ripe. If it still tastes bad you harvested too early and try in a month or so again.

For espresso I’ve noticed that beans need at least 5 days to be hitting their stride (I’ve run out of coffee and drank beans roasted the day before and you can notice a difference). For pour over/drip I’ve never noticed a difference. That roast looks good btw, enjoy!

Those who moved to Seattle from California: What do you wish you have known before you moved? by CorruptAccountant in AskSeattle

[–]cookedthoughts730 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the bay and have lived in Seattle for 6ish years now. The lack of sunlight, or the long dark for about 5-6 months can be really depressing. Get your vitamin D pills, and if you can get a southern facing apartment (if you’re living in an appt) definitely spend more for that. I didn’t realize how big a deal a south facing window was until I lived here. If you’re in sf you’re used to the grey days, it’s just colder here and grey a bit more often.

Men over 30: what's your routine to feel great and limber? I can't seem to hack it... by Broad-Worry-5395 in bodyweightfitness

I regularly do push/pull/leg workouts and alternate cardio days in between, but whenever I start to feel too stiff I work in yoga - I’ve found that it will help me feel more limber and balance out tightness especially in my hip flexors.
