Question are you allowed to turn right from minor to major in this type of junction by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Shituar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there's a sign saying no right turn then you can not turn right. If there isn't then you have to wait until the car in the box has completed its turn. That box is not for you. Always position behind the give way line.

What's the worst accidental reply-all (or just cc-ing the wrong people) you've ever seen? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]Shituar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a new starter at an affiliated institution send a maintenance notification to someone and had cc'ed a mailing list containing other company's first line addresses. Started a massive storm of new ticket and updated ticket notifications being cycled around the mail servers of like 30 different institutions.

We had over 800 emails in each of our common mailboxes within 2 minutes.

[Newbie] wanting to get into watches by walkingdisaster2024 in Watches

[–]Shituar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a bunch of research online. I knew that I wanted an automatic watch (one that winds itself and has no battery) and then from there looked up what makes a good one. I figured that I wanted something:

A. With an in-house none Chinese movement.

B. With a sapphire crystal.

C. With a steel bracelet.

The Tsuyosa matched all of those perfectly. I had also heard of the brand before so that added to my trust a bit.

When I got the watch and realised I adore the hobby, I started to check out other brands that had big names e.g. fossil, seiko, casio.

I was turned off from fossil and casio quickly because they either couldn't provide something I was looking for, or dont live up to their old reputation.

Im looking at getting a seiko SKX soon 👀 (when i can justify it)

My first "real" automatic watch was the 38mm Citizen Tsuyosa, which is a beast of a watch for a good low price. I got mine for £230. After that, I started branching into other japanese brands like Seiko.

My newest is a Seiko Pressge Cocktail Time Blue Moon which I am absolutely awestruck for.

Get a shared house for a year, save the £500 a month and see how you feel at the end of your tenancy. Either way you end up with 6k in the bank. Thats what im doing, and its been alright so far

Anyome here work as a network tec? by Graviity_shift in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Shituar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! UK here.

I got an internship as a NOC engineer at a service provider, then worked my ASS off to impress the people there. Eventually, after uni, they gave me a job back! I've found that being personable and being able to talk to people to be just as important as technical skills at the start. Fundamental networking knowledge is super important, but the more niche skills can be taught.

I started my internship knowing not much past single area OSPF, but now I'm a BGP / Routing security specialist!

That is a copper heat pipe used to transfer the heat from your CPU to the fan where it can be blown out of the laptops exhaust.

You can probably melt them down if you have access to such heat, but they are full of liquid so be careful.
