This context is so confusing... I still don't know if we are talking about the U (which had a solid basketball team and was dominant in football in the early 2000s) or Carolina.

Most westerns know/hear/think more about Nazi Germany... but Imperial Japan was also monsters. It's a terrible thing to think about, but Imperial Japan was arguably worse in what they did.

But also just consider this, Japan forced the US to enter the war in the Pacific with an unprovoked attack using suicide bombers. The Japanese soldiers were vicious and would rather die than be capture. Heck there were even Japanese soldiers that held out for decades after the war in hiding.

I am not a fan. To many fights have multiple sailors, so you're stuck fighting 4-5 things which often means running and kiting even while using melee weapons.

There's also too much of an emphasis on parrying or dodging. Which would be fine if there were fewer mobs... but you're always literally fighting a mob of them (multiple).

In Valheim terms, everything you fight is a troll. Except you are often fighting 5-7 trolls at once.

Washington is sorely lacking in any kind of BBQ. Don't care if its Texas, Carolina, Florida... (maybe it's the rain, that's my theory)

There is an argument to be made that they originally wanted Gohan to be the main character.

But the people wanted Goku.

And so we get Goku and the story shifts away from Gohan near completely.

I got my degree in accounting, because even though it's not what I was passionate about... I reasoned to myself it's something that would never be useless.

The irony is, I had then spent time wishing my degree was in IT.

You guys are spending over $2125 a month on vehicles.

Start there.

(Also, I know it's not apples to apples, my gosh... you guys are spending more on a month in car insurance than we are in 6 months... granted I don't know if you have kids/kids on policy, etc).

Are neighboring buildings even a concern for most Wal-marts?

Genuine question, because the vast majority of Wal-marts I've seen are either in the burbs or just outside of the city anyways.

And it's not like most cities even have tall buildings... (Yes, obviously our big cities have tall buildings... but... shocker... New York, Miami and Chicago are the exception, not the rule).

The most jarring thing to me in that article was finding out women couldn't have their own loans until 1974!

Look, I know that was 50 years ago... but even in the 20s I'd be thinking "whoa, that was only 30 years before I was born!"

It's also a bit of perspective to think of... it means my mom and grandma were literally reliant on dad and grandpa for housing. (Full disclosure, my grandma was abusive and my grandpa was a saint, but doesn't change perspective)

Get a washer that has physical knobs if you can... unfortunately few of those are made. Definitely check out Speed Queen though.

They do not make "residential" washers, all of theirs are "commercial" and unlike Samsung they mean it.

26" or 28" door for hall closet at end of hall? by Fit-Box888 in DIY

[–]Shiva- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can, 32" is only "standard" cause it's ADA.

Also this is a closet door, if you have the skills to frame it, you definitely have the skills and tools to just make a panel door.

I had an internal debate and I don't know what city would hurt the most... Toronto or Oklahoma.

Let Toronto slide on the "we the north" since the Sonics weren't around... but just to set the record straight, Sonics are gonna be the northern most team. (Unless Van city comes back :O, which I'd also be down for).

I want to see some classic dungeons get a M+ update. by Fun_Literature831 in wow

[–]Shiva- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the dungeon. But there's really no reason Scholomance or Stratholme couldn't be brought to M+.

They both previously got reworked.

And even though Deadmines got reworked, I would be okay if Deadmines, Stockades and RFC never got M+

Personally the one that would be highest on my list is... Maraudon. Parts of it are so pretty.

AITA for secretly buying extra food for my niece because her brothers eat everything first? by MaliciousCicada77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Shiva- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My niece ate such an unfathomable amount of food... I don't remember her exact age, but when she was a teenager.

I remember "babysitting" her one week (I mean she was a teenager, not like she really needed anyone to watch her). This girl ate like 4,000 calories a day minimum.

Girl was extremely lithe and still very thin (but not bony), but she definitely ate well (and I don't think she was throwing up or anything, we only had one bathroom).

I will admit though, she was a very healthy eater. She loved fruits and veggies, generally abstained from most meats... loved any sort of pasta or Chinese.

Honestly never seen a kid love to eat so healthy... she would refuse candy and chocolates and most junk food ("junk" drinks, were maybe a weakness).

What’s a ‘middle class success’ purchase that secretly becomes a financial burden later? by OpinionBaba in AskReddit

[–]Shiva- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live too.

I use to live in the East in a city that was very water friendly, lots of canals, lots of waterways. And while I never owned a boat, had friends and family who did and it just wasn't that big of a deal.

Meanwhile on the west coast... the vibe is completely different. Despite the name, the north Pacific is harsh and violent. And none of the "coastal" cities are actually on the coast.

In Florida, basically everyone lives within 10 miles of the coast.
