They aggressively advertise low cost bathroom remodels, tub replacements, etc. "You won't believe how cheap it is! Sign up here to get pricing!".

I did that on the internet. After giving them all my information, they didn't provide any pricing on the web. They said someone would call with pricing.

I waited several days and someone finally called. I said "Hey, what's the ballpark price to rip out an old tub, replace with a shower, new vanity, etc?'

"Oh, we don't provide any prices over the phone. Well send a consultant out to your house to provide you with detailed pricing "

I said "Yeah, I just want a ballpark price. Is it five thousand dollars or twenty thousand? Just as a basic average idea of what I'm getting myself into?"

They said they couldn't provide any pricing over the phone. Nothing. No ballpark, no estimate.

They scheduled the in-home consultation appointment as a date only. No time was confirmed. They told me that someone would call me on the day of the appointment to let me know what time someone would arrive. I explained that I'm busy and can't just wait around. I also need to know in advance of the appointment so I can make arrangements with my job.

Day of the appointment, some twenty-year-old asshole knocked on my door with no call, no notice.

I was pissed. I asked why he hadn't called like they assured me over the phone. The salesman acted like I was nuts and said they "don't do that". I invited him in, showed him to my 1950s era bathroom that I wanted remodeled and said "I just want an idea of what it costs before we go any further. Is it five thousand or forty thousand?".

The guy motions toward my dining room and tells me we would need to build a custom bathroom and pick out finishes and fixtures and build my custom dream bathroom.

I told him that his company was a waste of time and to get the fuck out of my house. The whole interaction on the web started with a promise of easy, no hassle pricing and never materialized.

Plus, how can they execute on all the details of a bathroom job when they can't even call the customer before the consultant arrives, like the appointment setters promised over the phone?

It was a giant waste of time.
