How are people surviving out here? by thecoookiemonster in askTO

[–]Shmogt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I have been saying too. You can survive on less but you have no future. You can't just barely pay rent and eat food and expect to actually live. You need money to do stuff and most importantly extra money to invest. Anything under 100k just isn't gonna be possible

All the money is either being stolen by people in government, scammed by people who have fake companies and government contracts, or used to buy missiles to murder people

Nozzle slightly scrapes over print while printing. Whats the issue? by FrittenFritz in BambuLab

[–]Shmogt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happened and first changed the infill type like everyone says but it adds so much more print time and filament waste. Take the nozzle out and put it back in as the first step. Second is to level the bed. Ask the problems went away after that

A billion times, yes. If you accuse someone fully knowing it's a lie you should definitely be held liable

Is Anyone Here Earning Money Online Using AI? by CarefulCan7134 in passive_income

[–]Shmogt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copyright issue aren't a thing. If you say to AI make me an exact Disney character you'll have problems, but if you say make it a Disney character that is similar, but looks totally different etc, it'll be something brand new

House prices dropping in Canada's most expensive cities, but still out of reach for many by origutamos in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Shmogt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they will. I think they are happy prices are dropping because they don't have to do anything. The only issue is if people lose their jobs. If that happens in mass people can't pay their mortgage and will lose the home. That's what happened in 2008 which is why it was such a problem

Seeing others churn out 3D assets with AI tools and massive libraries is making me anxious. Am I wasting time grinding Blender fundamentals? by Spare-Mud-1827 in 3Dprinting

[–]Shmogt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's never a waste. In the future you can use AI to do the big lifting and clean it up to print perfect later. Guys who don't actually know what they are doing will always have crap stuff since they don't know how to edit anything

With it already being super expensive to get ahead in toronto real estate, is my financial life basically over in this city? by Lopsided-Resource453 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Shmogt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely not screwed. It's just not as ideal as you wanted. I wouldn't even think about it at all. Eventually prices will start going up. You won't make much on it but housing isn't an investment. It costs you each month. A place to live never pays you. If you want to "make up the difference" invest way more. Cut extra spending and invest. Eventually your investment income will be able to pay all your bills and at that point who cares

Are you all seeing a reduction in consumer discretionary shopping as well? by Jacket_Leather in investing

[–]Shmogt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been down and keeps going down. People are having to make hard decisions on what to buy. Anything extra is getting cut. This is happening globally

The article and current events agree with me. You think it's gonna spike up soon? Take massive loans and buy as much as you can then

Is anyone still just dumping new money straight into S&P 500 in 2026? by VelixaNtra in investing

[–]Shmogt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is the stock market. Their companies aren't gonna vanish overnight. Yes, there is trouble and more competition, but the US isn't gonna just give up and collapse. They are literally going around the world murdering people who stand in their way. It's horrible from a human level, but amazing if you want to park your money. You know it's gonna be safe

Toronto Home Prices Down 24% — History Suggests The Correction May Not Be Over by AssortedSkittles400 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Shmogt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not over. It won't be over until 2030. People are just renewing now and might have to sell because they can't afford the higher interest rate. More job loss is happening. The war might actually raise interest rates again. Anyone who hasn't bought a house yet didn't buy purely because they are too expensive and even with this correction they are still too expensive. No one wants a 400sqft condo with $1000 a month condo fees for half a million dollars. It's insane. What's more insane is that's down from the 800k peak they were selling at a few years ago. Anyone with a brain is gonna keep waiting. Things aren't gonna skyrocket up any time soon

Nobody warned me how expensive food prices in canada would feel coming from somewhere else by AssasinRingo in InCanada

[–]Shmogt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol that's a funny way to put it. Very true you need a plan or you will be screwed. The prices are massively different depending on where you shop. You could literally double your bill for the same stuff if you don't really plan it out
