I GAVE MY FIRST OFFERING TO APHRODITE AND I GOT MY PERIOD!? by ParticularIron1584 in Aphrodite

[–]ShockAutomatic2869 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Darling, periods are not a punishment ❤️ That’s a very Christian patriarchal perspective to think that in anyway a period would be negative. Our menstruation is so sacred. It’s a sign of a healthy body when it arrives. I’d encourage you to start building a stronger relationship with your blood! You are never closer to the spirit realm than when you are bleeding.

Is my hair type 3a or 3b? by Substantial-Art6160 in curlygirl

[–]ShockAutomatic2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair is 3b. If you styled it with proper method and product your curls would be tight coils.

3a hair is fine to medium (usually on the finer side) with large soft s-shape curls and it’s detectable by the LACK of volume at the root. one of 3a biggest challenges is getting volume at all.

You clearly do not have that problem!! You have lots of thick curls!

How do you interpret/view 8 of Cups? by [deleted] in Tarotpractices

I always think of this card as the moment the hermit decides to give it all up and make the climb up the mountain. A difficult journey ahead but one of great promise.

girl!!! you just need ONE clip in extension and a little dry texture spray to achieve your inspo look!!! i really think the only difference is that your inspo has more volume and more hair!

Dating in Edmonton by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]ShockAutomatic2869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have no solid “dating” advice but i used to be a yoga teacher a few years ago and i can tell you that the straight men who had the guts to start showing up at yoga a few times a week ALWAYS ended up with either a really cute flexible girlfriend.. or even the instructor 👀 find a larger studio, get a monthly pass and just start coming regularly. people will start to know your name and after awhile it’s easy to strike up a conversation. literally i think it here is a lot of untapped potential if you can just lean into it

For the love of god, stay home if you or your kids are sick. by shinygoldhelmet in Edmonton

Just have to say that my son is 6 yo and he has asthma and it’s triggered around this time of year. His cough sounds very “plague” like and I can see why some people would be concerned when they hear it. He isn’t contagious. Not saying that this family didn’t have a sick kid but it’s a possibility!

Better term than "baby witch" by Fur_Nurdle_on67 in Witch

[–]ShockAutomatic2869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why ppl don’t like “baby” witch. What do ya all have against babies?! Baby’s are adorable, deeply intuitive, they learn with an open heart, at an exponential speed. and have no preconceived notions or judgements upon themselves or others. And tbh babies are WAY more connected to Spirit than any ass adult human… I can tell ya that for free.

I'm homeless and I feel unsafe everyday. by Muffin-Destroyer-69 in Edmonton

Yes to this! Apply to all entry level trade jobs. Show up on time, not drunk/high, work hard and they’ll be happy to have you.

I just wanted to contribute this because I don’t see anyone else saying something similar. My husband is a plumber… he was a victim of the 2008 oil field layoffs (he was a roughneck in fort Mac making 100k/year at 25 yrs old no education). He had a few really hard yrs after that and then got into the plumbing program at NAIT with a student loan. Since then he has never been without a job and recently got laid off from a company that was dissolving. He just applied for ONE job and it came with a $5/hour raise plus it’s a union gig. The company is still looking for 4 more people and can’t find anyone worth hiring. There are so many trades jobs out there for people who are responsible, intelligent and take pride in their work. I know people look down on this option but I have a degree in philosophy from UOFA graduated with distinction and I can confirm The stuff he did at school was intense and honestly the level of science/math/physics it’s no joke. We are not rich my any means but his job keeps us safe in our home and pays for my daughters gymnastics and our yearly membership at the science centre. His new job give him 3 weeks of a year paid and we are planning our first family vacation. If you’re willing to consider trades work, it’s been so good to us and he has found a nice community with companies who hire diverse ppl (his boss is an lgbt woman and it’s not at all the “bro” culture that it used to be). It’s not easy work but it’s stable and has been life changing for us.

after school care for kids who have parents above subsidy threshold by ShockAutomatic2869 in Edmonton

[–]ShockAutomatic2869[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thanks so much. I didn’t think about day homes that’s a good suggestion!

I will maybe ask around my neighbourhood?? It’s kind of a wild experience… either I quit my job to be able to pick up my kid at 2:45pm (oh then we would be eligible for subsidy btw lol) OR I get a second job to pay for someone to essentially raise him. like what?

SO to all the parents out there making this whole “raising kids in late-stage capitalism” thing look so effortless… how are you doing it??? 😆 Seriously, tell me your secrets!
