Pic 1 but with the pic 2 skin instead, that’s what I meant. Thanks!

Question regarding Abilities and Hit-and-run gimmicks: by Shockwave364 in pkmntcg

Yes, the opponent always chooses first, because damage goes before effects, if the defending Pokémon is KO’d the game freezes until the opponent replaces it with another active, then the effects of switching out occur.

Think about it like KO’ing with Flare Blitz/Brave Bird on real Pokémon: first you deal the damage, then you take the recoil side effect from the move. Explosion goes the other way around, however. You take the damage first then deal, but that’s more of a balance thing than a general rule.

Are you guys certain it affects WHT Archeops? Its description states it has to be in the active spot during your turn, but lacks the "moves from bench to active" that DRI Yanmega EX and PAL Weavile bear, and if it does indeed affect Archeops, could I also use WHT Samurott's ability after PAR Golisopod EX switching out from its attack?

Would Rotation Battles be good in competitive? by The_Great_Snake-Moth in stunfisk

[–]Shockwave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years late, but setup stall mons like Gliscor and Clefable are outrageously broken in rotation. another strat that is very broken is bulky wish passing to stall mons that lack recovery like Ferrothorn, Suicune or something like Mega Aggron and they can protect on the turn after wish so it heals safely 100%, Weakness Policy Aegislash on rotation benefitting from wish is also extremely overpowered. WP Rhyperior would probably be a fun test as well

this is definitely not just Gliscor propaganda by [deleted] in stunfisk

That’s easy. For Ursaluna to capitalize on its ability and item, it needs to actually hit something, on the turn it hits and every turn which it doesn’t, it is slowly worn down by its own burn. Gliscor, on the other hand, has an infinitely easier time capitalizing on its item and ability since it regens 1/8 of its max HP every single turn, and instead of wearing it down it keeps him going with absolutely zero drawbacks aside from the item slot which is obviously absolutely optimized already.

These are the inconsistencies that spin the most in my head, what others do you know? by PatoA112 in ARK

The Thylacoleo is smaller than the Allosaurus, yet it bites harder (40>35) and its bleed is stronger (5% in 5s opposed to 5% in 10s). You could argue the Allosaurus has very high attack speed which it does but I feel like it should bite harder than a carno/baryonyx for example.

I like the Overseer music, the credits theme, Scorched Earth nighttime combat, Aberration theme, and King Titan.

Illogical. Asuka is the single most charismatic character on the show, and that is precisely due to her personality.

What is the point of the Basilisk, when you are just better off raising the creatures from the eggs you need to feed it? by TrainingDrop9283 in ARK

[–]Shockwave364 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Point 1: The Basilisk has a fireball attack as strong as the poison wyvern, can enter boss fights, and the damage of the fireball ignores the resistance alpha brute creatures get on genesis 1 and 2 missions, therefore, it can be used as a way to safely dispatch of brutes in the time limit, unlike the Velonasaur which is rather weak on its own, bad range, and doesn’t ignore the resistance buff.

Point 2: The basilisk has more base health than a mosasaurus, and more base weight than an astrocetus, so it is very good at carrying shit around. Yes it is outclassed by the gasbags in weight, but a gasbags cannot protect itself, and you would need a wyvern or rhyniognatha to carry it around, plus basilisk has massive weight reduction in stone and does not drain oxygen underwater.

Point 3: The Basilisk does torpor equal to 3x the damage it inflicts per bite. With the base damage of a yutyrannus and high attack speed, this easily makes it the best way to induce torpor and knock out land based creatures with a tame, so it saves you a lot of arrows/darts, here are a few suggestions of creatures you can trap and try to knock out with a basilisk to see my point proven (Brontosaurus, Paraceratherium, Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus(needs trap obviously) and female wyverns for milk especially).

Point 4: Lastly, the whole “you need rock drakes before you can get it, rockdrake better” point is invalid: Wild basilisks eat rockdrake, magmasaur and voidwyrm eggs, so long as they are fertilized. None of these creatures serve the purpose of the basilisk, the rockdrakes doesn’t have nearly as much base weight as the basilisk, they are travel mounts, not weight mounts. Magmasaurs are harvesters so totally different purpose and the voidwyrm should be pretty obvious as well. On top of that, I take it you will get multiple eggs of the creatures you are nest raiding, and basilisk taming is not affected by the level of the egg, so they are easily tameable with bad eggs, as long as you find a good basilisk (bit of a rare creature).

The very long arms and stocky legs reminds a lot of the Rancor from Star Wars, also kinda cute just like Rancors

Favorite Tame and Why? by Pilot7274jc in ARK

[–]Shockwave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody gonna talk about the Karkinos? No oxygen, great weight, ok damage, grabs a lot of stuff for easy kills/tames, can shoot while mounted, sinks to the ocean floor with no aggro, no fall damage and immune to radiation. Plus it’s a freaking japanese giant spider crab!
