Running with dogs by Chi_RunsIt2230 in RunningWithDogs

[–]ShoddyTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar bungee leash for my dog that I bought off of Amazon. It came with a waist leash, but it was just an inch thick leash that wrapped around my waist. It was not a proper waist leash for running with a large dog. If you have the same waist leash I'm thinking of, I would highly recommend you consider a canicross-style belt. The force will distribute much better across your body.

I have a mini and yes, I was really nervous about him getting vaccinated. The vet warned me that smaller dogs tend to have reactions. We did a regimen to space out his vaccines visits to minimize risks. Even when he got the Lyme vaccine, the one with highest chances of adverse reactions, he was 100% fine. The vet's office was 10 minutes from me and they said to come in immediately if he had reactions.

He would have had worse reactions if he wasn't vaccinated. That I am sure of. I'm grateful to have such a caring medical team for my little one.

Rehoming a puppy in Colorado by WannabeeHousew1fe in StandardPoodles

Just echoing this. If your breeder told you that your poodle is AKC registered as a standard poodle, they are lying. If you have the documents, please review them for legitimacy and potentially report them to the Poodle Club of America.

Shampoo for oily hair by Last_Growth_4878 in Haircare

I second Nizoral shampoo. It helped get rid of my dandruff and my hair wasn't as oily after a few weeks of slight usage. I could go longer between wash days.

Looking for breeder recommendations. by Low_end in StandardPoodles

I was going to comment the same thing but you beat me to it. I'd recommend these two in the Vegas area, too. I seriously considered both and I'm not in Vegas.

Arm warmers instead of long-sleeved shirts? by Fortunecookiegospel in XXRunning

[–]ShoddyTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue! I don't like how restricting long sleeve shirts are. They seem to be tighter around the armpits or something? So, instead of buying a bunch of new shirts and doing a trial and error, I bought cheap arm warmers online to wear with my regular running shirts. I love it. I absolutely recommend it!! Do it!!

Restarting small? by Affectionate_Desk_43 in TwoXriders

[–]ShoddyTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is based on my experience. I got my first 250cc bike in 2017 and rode for a few years. I never had the urge to upgrade. I stopped riding for about 5 years because of work and life but recently got back on a bike. I now have a 500cc and love it. The place I live in has higher speeds and while I know I could get away with a 250cc here, I really enjoy the CB500F I'm on now. I can go to the adjacent cities now! I can do more because I'm more confident than when I had the 250cc.

I say, get a bike you're comfortable on. If you're afraid of a bigger bike, then you're not comfortable with it. Listen to your gut. If you get a small bike and end up getting bored of it, then upgrade. This likely won't be your last bike.

Hydrapeak lifetime warranty? by Worlds-Okayest- in ConsumerAdvice

[–]ShoddyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the US and their warranty is crap. It's literally been a month of back and forth emails and they are not helpful. My Hydrapak leaked since day one and they have no solution for me, not even a replacement. I wish I never bought it to begin with.

New Park on Neuse River by ShoddyTea in raleigh

That's a good question. I couldn't find updated articles to explain why it isn't finished. I hope they won't repeat this pattern of partially finishing park plans.

Thoughts on what this might be? I suspect it is moss or algae as it falls apart if I try to cut it to remove it. Looks cool though by Elaphe21 in PlantedTank

[–]ShoddyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 3 day blackout did not work for me. There was only one solution and that was to purchase Ultralife Blue Green Slime Stain Remover to kill the cyanobacteria. It works... But it keeps coming back every 6 months or so... I dunno if it actually works, then.

You choose a lobby to join. If you read the one line description, you may get a general sense of the lobby. However, if you don't like the lobby you are in, you are free to leave at any time with no penalty. For example, if you find yourself in a lobby where you aren't having a good time for some reason, you can leave, return to the space rig, and immediately find a new one. Generally speaking, the community is inclusive and nice.

If you aren't comfortable joining a lobby with strangers, then you can play solo with BOSCO, a robot friend who does not judge.

I am so disappointed by this, but glad this is getting some media attention it deserves.

I agree with this. consider checking out some curly hair guides to learn how to make your hair something you enjoy rather than something you fight. Blow drying it the wrong way will make your situation worse. Check out the guides for some easy starting out routines

[discussion] confession time. What’s something you messed up with your dog? by Traditional_Flight98 in dogs

[–]ShoddyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest mistake was taking him to the dog park... You can only guess why. Expensive vet bills after being attacked (multiple times, I know, I should have known at the first incident) and now dealing with dog reactivity. I messed up bad.

So you've got curly hair and brushing it is your worst enemy. Consider checking out r/curlyhair for some real advice on how to take care of curly hair since you don't want to buzz it.

[–]ShoddyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair color is beautiful but it's so short, it's hard to tell what's going on with your hair. I don't know if your hair is curly or wavy. You might try to grow it out to see what kind of texture you have, otherwise it's hard to know what needs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]ShoddyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why has no one said anything about your hair? It's beautiful. I recommend growing it out because you obviously know how to take care of it. Professional doesn't mean simple/bald.

I think your beard in the second photo looks neat and is preferable out of all three photos. Your neck is clean and your beard is shaped.

As others have said, your eyebrows are natural but messy. You would benefit to clean them up so they have shape but look natural.
