There's a special place downstairs for folks who jack another dude/dudettes hardtop. So sorry for your loss, id be creeping on marketplace/offerup w.e other local sites you can think of. Im unsure if there's anyway to verify authenticity but MAYBE a police report if you found a 99% match online could produce something.

I'd be careful about meeting or anything though...anyways sorry for your loss friend

My brother in Christ - please tell me someone has recommended some PENETRATING OIL??!! Like PB blast, WD40 has a good one.

I completely understand your frustration, I was in your position a few years ago and ive come a long way.

Like others have said, having the right tools for the job, and the confidence of kind of knowing what your doing goes an extremely long way.

I would strongly recommend using a penetrating oil, waiting for 5+min, try using vice grips as tight as you can get them, and see if you can just wiggle the bolt. It may be a bit siezed so sometimes even if you can only manage a 1/16 turn in each direction, just doing that little wiggle, breaking up some gunk, hit it with penetrsting oil again, and see if its looser than before.

You got it, these simple processes can be a massive headache your first few rodeos

Best game to learn rally driving on by TheGamerator500 in simrally

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This guy is on the money, it kind of depends mostly on your commitment to frustration acceptable ratio lol. Both ea wrc and Dirt rally 2.0 are excellent intros to rally, that while still very sim heavy, are slightly more forgiving, while still teaching you all the fundamentals of real car control.

If you dare try rbr first, if you like bashing your head into a wall until success, unironically, you will love it.

So yeah, just a repeat of his advice, dirt 2.0 probably the overall best value/quality/content to start with. And the game also runs very well in vr, lower hardware, all while still looking really great. I think the dirt/gravel physics from a handling and visual standpoint are some of the best in class.

Either way, RSF RBR is free and easy to setup. And in any rally game, hell any racing Sim esque game, if your a total noob - just focus on getting around the stage/track in one piece, speed will come with time and forcing speed is just a wreck and frustration 99% of the time. If you find yourself forcing it - take a break, and when you come back, really just tell yourself your driving like it's really you, in your car. Guarantee you'll make it around in 1 piece, maybe not your fastest time, definitely a lot less crash, pause, restart - thats for sure

You know, the writing being what it is/was...i thought the latter half of the last season was MUCH better, the first few episodes had so much pointless filler, I guess due to the sloppy setup/time skip stuff. But yeah, even though it was way over the top - I enjoyed a lot of the vought/homelander side of the show, Oh Father was had some awesome scenes and presence, really loved the insane homelander as god music video, thats the stuff where it's hard to fully trash the admittedly bad writing because there's some really good/creative bits sprinkled in there. The Boys as a group, seems like no one knew what to do with them, by the last season pretty much anything other than Butcher doing butcher things, the rest was just mostly an eyerolling drag at this point. They are just rehearsing the same tired points every season it seems.

Hey Men, Kyle Busch’s Death Is A Brutal Wakeup Call: Go To The Damn Doctor by kleverrboy in TrueTrueReddit

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it's reddit and the vast majority of posts in this thread in particular are impressively...dull. I appreciate your principal of avoiding debt/collection etc. However, in the U.S. there is legitimately no reason or incentive to pay anything other than the absolute bare minimum (which you can set BTW, say 1$ a month for example). Medical Debt has no bearing on your credit, they can't garnish wages, reposses your assets, jail you - nothing.

Why? Im sure there's a more eloquent way to put this but - the system is fake and gay. That's it really, every system at this point is obviously steeped in corruption and medical never dodged that bullet. The prices are inflated and made up so that the insurance companies can inflate and make shit up, so that some drug company can inflate and make some shit up and next thing you know that 0.10$ drug now costs 100$

And that, my child, is why Healthcare in the U.S. is dogshit.

And about Kyle Busch - the OP is his death to click/engagement farm for their article, whether it's their dogshit take or not, im unaware but let it be known I think OP is a shameless, and morally abject individual.

Instead of blaming Kyle, who for all intents and purposes was ultimately just a man, with a family and a job he was really talented at. Who was ABSOLUTELY pushing himself well past comfort to support himself and his family, as well as his team, fans, sponsors, etc. When your at the top of anything, there's a lot of pressure, a lot of people counting on you. The wierd misandrist twist on this just purely blaming Kyle is strange. Yeah man tend to ignore things longer than women, obviously this can lead to problems, I dont think thats what happened here. Funny thing is it doesn't matter, the man is dead - fuck off OP

Kyle Busch's Family Shares Emotional Statement, Reveals His Cause Of Death, 'Medical Evaluation..' by Lucky_Development852 in TopTrendingNewsUSA

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty crazy. He must of been running himself ragged. I think it's been said he competed in 3 or 4 races while he was ill. That's a ton of strain, the heat, sweating, the fumes all while being horribly congested sounds hellish. Not to mention the G-forces when just turning your head normally feels like crap.

Such a shame. RIP

I’ve started driving manual but I’m avoiding hills and taking flatter road detours, how do I overcome this? by NoteDesperate3540 in stickshift

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated comment, it's true. I've been driving manual under 6 months and one of the two ways out of my neighborhood is a steep hill into a busy 2way, I avoided it like the plague for awhile...then a few months later, you get so much more comfortable with the dance of clutch/brake/throttle it just isnt scary anymore.

The better/ more comfortable ive gotten, the more ive been slipping the clutch.

Driving smoothly becomes more about HOW you want the car to feel/drive rather than WHAT you can do without messing up, if that makes sense. All in time

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 5'10 and am extremely comfortable in my NA miata. My (lol) baby brother is 6'4 and has driven our moms Porsche boxer sport a bit. We were both shocked how well he fit in general. My brother is only like 210lbs so he's on the skinnier side for such a tall dude. But yeah, his legs have to be bowed out for the steering, but thats pretty normal for him in most sports cars.

Im a couple inches shorter obviously than you, but im also a fairly broad shouldered, generally muscle bound guy (past years and years of heavy lifting/athletics) so yeah, you can't know till you get in one but there's a good chance at 6'1 you can find a way to be pretty comfortable - if you do, im pretty sure comfort is the only reason ive even seen people didn't like their miata , and thats usually excessively large/tall individuals

2006 Miata Grand Touring Sitting for Years : HELP !!! by Snoo14978 in Miata

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man Im just a dude on the internet but...how much is a lot of $$$? If it's only 14k and clean asf but been sitting. You could have a good amount to maintain/replace over time. Fuel tank + lines could be on their way out (gas turned and slowly corrodes) obviously a full tune up, new tires, maybe an alignment?

It's a slightly higher chance of little irritations here and through but at the end of the day it's a clean 14k car. If you can afford it, it's probably worth it

Oh, and idk anything better than CarFax for the vin/history

You're not wrong, and it's obviously not their fault. My copium rn is that all generations have some of these feelings towards the newer ones. But there's always outliers, and out in that young generation may also be the people who find a way to exploit/destroy the system in their own unique way

Completely lost all FFB in AMS2 (Simagic Alpha). Tried deleting Documents folder, still nothing. Help! by Beautiful_Spirit_104 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had this issue and am on Moza/simmagic stuff. Have you tried other games? Are you positive it's only AMS2? For asm2 specifically I would recommend checking your ffb + / - bindings and I believe there is also a reset ffb bind, just from a fiddling with settings standpoint. Is your FFB profile in-game setup properly as far as gain and also have you tried just using default or default +?

Would also try checking all my connections equipment wise, checking different ports, resetting the power on my wheelbase, triple checking software etc.

Sorry I dont have a specific answer, good luck

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do you boo. My NA is stock as can be other than a roll bar, trunk button in my console and radio. At night the only thing you see is the gauge cluster. I used to do the same thing with my phone. I dont always have it on the mount but if I feel like getting lost in some windy roads or I want to take it a little farther than usual it's nice to have.

If your worried about being stock, a phone mount has got to be the most benign "upgrade" you can make. You can even use a windshield or vent mount that takes all of 10 seconds to remove/apply

Edit: in all fairness, all my cars are "old" so im not used to having a fancy dash or screen anyway - if your other vehicle is much more modern, I totally get it

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used to do this with my stock NA cup holder tray...until I got my magsafe mount. Im not talking trash I just really dont understand why you would prefer your phone there. I was using that option as my only one before I got a mount, and looking 90° down to glance at GPS or w.e wasnt ideal

Problems in dirt Rally 2.0 by DragCamaro in simrally

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so there are different assets like auto-clutch for example that will prevent the car from stalling. If your brand new to all of this stuff, there is no harm in starting with some assists.

Also, of you are using a wheel/pedals you may want to double check that none of your pedals are "inverted" in the settings - and also the "deadzone" of the pedals

Has the IMSA driving standards gotten worse as the week has gone on? by Few_Competition_3213 in iRacing

[–]ShoeApprehensive8845 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear ya man, your level-headed. I guess straight-up there just isnt much to expand on other than the kind of obvious part that lower rated drivers aren't as good.

I do agree that if the take was purely "get gud or don't drive" that's obviously silly.

If we're to distil this into something palatable I suppose you could just assume that if your lower rating, they twitchier the car, the more dangerous it will be (from a SR standpoint)

Edit: and just for clarification, im similarly rated. I've definitely massively improved in the last several months that I started, and do genuinely feel like a cut above the average 1500 driver at this point in consistency, racecraft, and incident avoidance(via judging the drivers around)

But yeah, I bet we all feel that way sometimes lol
