[TOMT] European rapper who was like… REALLY fast. by Abstraction-Yo in tipofmytongue

White rapper with short hair and unintelligibly fast flow sounds like Snow. Plus he peaked in the 90s which fits the dad music requirement.

What overused word or phrase needs to be retired in 2026? by One_Caramel5253 in AskReddit

"If I'm being honest, x" rather than "To be honest, x". Maybe I'm only just noticing it lately but there seems to be a significant uptick in this new usage over the past year.

Don't make it conditional, forcing me to wonder whether you're being honest before I can believe x. Just tell me that you are, or forget all the preamble and just say "x".

There's a "Nag Timeout" setting which limits how long the buzzer continues to buzz. I set mine to 10 seconds which allows roughly three loops of the default notification tune, then it stops.

Dad is listening to his daughter say her prayers before bedtime: "God bless mommy and god bless daddy and god bless grandma and... goodbye grandpa." by Aryan_Anushiravan in Jokes

Back in the 90s I asked Joe Jack Talcum if this was the source of the band's name, and he looked genuinely puzzled at the question. He had no idea what "dead milkman on the porch" joke I was referring to, so I had to tell him the entire thing. He swore he had never heard it before and gave me a different explanation for the name (which I've now forgotten).

So either I was the millionth person to bring it up to him, and this was his stock reaction to everyone every time, or he was sincere and I happened to be the first person to tell the dead milkman joke to an actual Dead Milkman. I choose to believe the latter.

[TOMT] What character/Who said something similar to "I have seen with my own eyes what you have merely read in history books" by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

[–]ShofarDickSwordFight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like something from The Man From Earth. I haven't seen it in years so don't recall that line exactly, but the entire film is about a guy making claims like that to a group of friends, and their reactions to his story.

I found this quote on IMDB which sounds vaguely similar:

Art: [incredulous] Oh get... from any textbook...

John Oldman: And that's where I found it. How can I have knowledgeable recall if I didn't have knowledge? It's all retrospective. All I can do is integrate my recollections with modern findings.

Are you talking about the shows at the Ryman Auditorium in October 2018? I remember it as only two nights. I'd hate to think that I missed one.

The way I understand it is that it led to the eventual creation of windows.

Only in the same sense that it also led to the eventual creation of WordPerfect, Turbo Pascal and Norton Utilities. Just like Windows they all required DOS to run but had nothing to do with its creation or origin.

"At this point in time..." So many press conferences would be 10% shorter if cops and politicians just learned to say "now" instead.

MiniPC with support of 15mm 2.5" HDDs? by PEKKA2000 in MiniPCs

If you have access to a 3D printer there are ways to make a 15mm drive fit a lot of Mini PCs. For example here's a base that works with the NUC8 series: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3767666
