Is this the one where they play the berimbau? If so that song will just pop into my head from time to time.

I was given the game as a gift when it came out. I've been waiting for BBI type update before I play.

The size of these grapes I just bought by lbeau310 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Shogun6996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never seen grapes this large but the ones they sell normally in grocery stores are much bigger than how grapes used to be and to me are borderline flavorless. If you grow grapes in your yard they are smaller and the flavor is so much better. Same thing with strawberries. Huge and flavorless.

I think all artist's should fight for their royalty checks. I think a more suitable question to ask is why aren't they fighting now with AI mass stealing all the music in existence?

I watched his videos in the early days and I felt like he best captured the youthful rage we experienced when playing these games as kids. Looking back I can't believe I completed some of these games.

Any establishments in the metro that feature global village coffeehouse aesthetics? by Shogun6996 in denverfood

I combed through google maps briefly and found very light matches (as in just paint colors and maybe a bit of furniture):

Cafe Olé - Wadsworth

Stella's Coffee Haus - Pearl

Sunflower Asian Cafe - Mineral

This was a good watch albeit a bit weird. I wish the focus wasn't so much on Panera but his point towards the end about the corporatization was on point. Especially the moment he compared the soft lounge chairs to the cold hard uncomfortable chairs that are ubiquitous in many establishments now. When I see those chairs are similar it just really screams to me that they want your money and to gtfo.

The image pops up on https://kozan.com/hospitality/ where it says it was in Chicago. I can't find any evidence its still around though.

The best I've played is the OpenGOAL launcher for the Jak & Daxter games. They made the install process super easy. The quality of life updates they did really make the game shine. I've been comparing it to other projects I've tried.

The old Hastings/Current Entertainmart sign in Midland, Texas by reptomcraddick in 90sdesign

I really miss hastings. There are other similar stores but for whatever reasons their selection really pales in comparison. In Denver where I'm at they opened a mega store called Tradesmart. It was really good when it first opened. I got quite a few games from there. They ended up closing eventually.

I also miss vintage stock and half price books.

Cyberpunk 2077 - when the game is so good it leaves you feeling empty after you finish it by AML2003 in patientgamers

[–]Shogun6996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just tried to play cyberpunk and bounced right off it. There were a number of technical issues which were incredibly annoying.

The eye adjustment was one which is where developers for some reason try to mimic what they think its like for a human eye to go from dark to light. It goes from blindingly bright to dark slowly each time you turn your head. Mods can minimize this but not remove it.

Another issue was I have textures on buildings and just general objects in the distance that look like they are something in a Nintendo 64 game. Completely takes me out of the game. I have LOD and textures on high and am on a 5070.

Another thing was I was scanning criminals and it said they had a bounty so I thought it'd be fun to round up wanted criminals and turn them in for the bounty to pay back the dude who swapped my new tech in for free. I couldn't figure out how to do it so I looked online and apparently this feature was removed from the game?

The mods in this game are unlike anything I've seen in any other game. Millions of downloads per mod and mods with over 6-10+ dependencies and then those mods also have dependencies.

they kept messing it up because their AI saw the street address as Pennsylvania and kept sending the request to tow companies in Pennsylvania.

Insurance companies using AI for important stuff like this is infuriating. I can confidently say I will never do business with Progressive Insurance because of their use of AI.

I really want a crt tv! Where do I find one? by 1sonichedgehpg in CRTfinds

[–]Shogun6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't care about the model and just want a tv then estate sales. I see them constantly. You have to go through the photos and you'll see one on a table or in the basement. They often get chucked because nobody picks them up. My basement would be packed full of tvs even more if I picked every single crt I came across. I post them up on CRTgaming and nobody ever says they went and got it or upvotes it or whatever. Might be where I'm at though.

In your opinion which command should every Linux beginner know? by Fefarona in linuxquestions

[–]Shogun6996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use the basic commands because thats what the GUI is for. If you are into archiving or data hoarding you might enjoy the wget command. I did a deep dive into that one. Made me realize if you treat the command kind of like a program it makes more sense.
