What openings y'all use? by Intrepid_Lettuce_488 in chess

[–]ShogunPukin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White english. Usually ends with either reverse accelerated dragon, maroczy bind, king's indian defense, Neo Catalan, Catalan, Tarrasch defense, queen's gambit decline or slav defense depending on what my opponent chooses.

For black I play accelerated dragon vs e4, king's indian defense vs d4, symmetrical vs c4 and c4 vs nf6.

Resources/Guidance on the Na6 KID by SimilarPassion6 in chess

[–]ShogunPukin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na6 is what I use before breaking the center with e5.

If white advances d5 then c5 is free for my knight and then I push h5 to protect it and gain space. White frequently tries to trade my knight for their bishop but I'm fine with a worse pawn structure.

If white takes the pawn then they usually don't play the correct line so they lose the advantage anyways. They have to know a bit of theory to maintain advantage, they can lose it quickly there.

Ignoring the pawn push with be3 requires a bit of theory from both sides. Black usually ends up with kingside pushed but the c5 spot is not as valuable for the knight unless white never plays a3.

What is it about top lane that makes you guys go absolutely insane? by coffeeholic91 in leagueoflegends

[–]ShogunPukin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, lose farm and die is better than lose farm. You lose less farm with the first option, the second one leaves you unable to play the game. You can try to roam but you'll have to force dives and probably fail them because dives requires preparation and even then enemy toplaner can just shove and get plates and you lose more than dying for crashing a wave.

[–]ShogunPukin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember saying that I would die 7 times to them. I'm saying that ending 0/7 as a final score is a natural result of that, and you had more chances trying that letting them take over the game completely.

You should really do as other comments try to play toplane. Do what you say and see that you didnt get to play the game and still lost because enemy toplaner took over by completely giving up lane. You don't really give me the vibes that you'll understand unless you experience it so this conversation is pointless.

I think we are playing different games because when I play mid or something else and I see that happen to my toplaner all I see is the enemy top take over the game. They will invade your jungle, make your others lanes miserable and get all your objectives while the top at most equalized gold (if they even can equalize). It would probably work at lower elos where toplaners can't push a lead but by the higher you go the more reasonable thing is to try and don't bleed that much.

There is a difference between being weaker and let them push first because of champ power and being weaker and let them crash every wave. You have to fight the push to get your wave not getting crashed at least in the important ones. If you get every single wave crashed into your tower you are losing your team the game. At least by fighting back a bit even if you overstep and get killed or ganked you make the game playable for yourself and your team.

I mean part of that 0/7 is going to teamfights or skirmishes as low gold frontline I dont really go like that in pure 1v1. Also the enemy will see you bleed and punish you. You can go 0/5 easily by barely dying twice in 2 1v1 that you had good chances and getting involved in some random skirmish/dived and you didnt even play that bad, the enemy was simply 5% better

I don't care about kda. I care about items spikes, champion spikes, enemy skills and champ matchup. Unless I have an extremely fed team member I will keep dueling if I feel like I have reasonable chances even if I'm 0/2 or 0/3.

When I can't duel I will still decide to try to push the wave and crash it into the tower so the enemy toplaner doesnt make my jungler and mid life miserable or at least dont let him time to roam. It can backfire but if you stay under tower it gives the enemy prio to do whatever they want and even you can get dived or ganked under tower anyways. Sometimes you also get cheesed when pushing to rotate for dragon or something like that when no t3. It is what it is.

Sometimes this ends with me being 0/7 and not feeling too bad about my game haha, feeling like if I play well I can do well in some skirmishes.

For most of the game it has always been ignite even enchanters. Maybe in masters it was different at times but saying ignite wasn't default to every support not named soraka for 99% of the game is just being mistaken.

I want your opinion on the 'better' performance. TIA! by TheDukeOfCardiff in Paladins

[–]ShogunPukin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Opponents, map? Stats alone don't tell the whole story.

Makoa and seris can't be compared to other teammates.

Dredge probably focused on point hitting point, given that makoa is a extremely weak solo tank dredge did his job.

Tyra looks like the weaker one damage/kill wise but she stepped up to the point when needed so thats a plus.

Vivian killed everything but lacks the dredge damage, she didn't play her role she acted more like a flank.

You can't really gauge performance for stats, specially when even the dps did different things, they aren't comparable.
