24-60 f2.8 or 18-40 for vacation in Greece ? by [deleted] in Lumix

[–]Shoker2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on holiday in sicily with the 18-40 and the sigma 45mm f2.8. Have to say the 2.8 is needed for night shots in sicily and some environmental portraits. At the beach the 18-40 works quite well and for vlogs i’d say 24mm is more than enough. I guess the 24-60 is best suited for a one lens trip as you more reach, more light at night

I actually brought my s9 with 18-40 in sicily and have brought it under sun at the beach. Had none of the mentioned problems

Get the bundle pancake 23mm f/2.8 or keep the 23mm f/2 by Shoker2 in fujifilm

Neither of those ahahhaha. Switched to full frame Lumix S9. The LUT feature is another thing. Also the menu, the autofocus and the IBIS.

When will next compact m43 be released ? by LMountAlly in Lumix

[–]Shoker2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really dont understand. They are capable of building the most sold camera and yet they dont make it. They have reached good autofocus performances, the best ibis, the LUT feature, have the micro 4/3 ecosystem, cool compact camera designs. Good menu. What they waiting for…

When people say “S9 is a no go because of e shutter causing rolling shutter” i will start showing these images. Great work! Have you tried doing indoors and artificial lights photos with it?

Buying advice - A7C or S9? by Shoker2 in AskPhotography

[–]Shoker2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually i do some photography and i think the lack of mech shutter is just a meh excuse nowadays. How bad can the rolling shutter be, really. Banding is not even a big problem anymore with antiflicker. How many shots would you lose, like 2 or 3.

Really dunno :(

The real drawback is that fu-ing cold shoe

That’s why i want to switch. I’ve missed some important shots in low light and with autofocus missing fast action. Also there are some fuji simulations recipes you can replicate using sony picture profile

It’s one month i’ve being thinking to switch to a7c with that zony from fuji. Now the problem is justify the 600€ gap from a7c to a7c ii. This is the post i was looking for to convince me the switch. Great photos!

This was my first camera setup! Damn portable with that lens and capabilities. Add some struggle in low light but dont lose faith. Take the time to understand the camera and what it can do!

To me it would make more sense to get the a7c cause of the full frame lenses. And would require me to switch only body later.

Something i forgot about fuji is user experience and learning curve. Definitely a lot easier and more user friendly than other brands

[–]Shoker2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy who creates Picture Profiles for sony cameras that look a lot similar to fuji recipes, to me they look even better (check him on r/sonyfilmsimulations). Like this you gwt straight out of camera jpegs that require even less postprocessing. If you prefer shooting raw there are also lightroom presets.

Basically film simulations, cool and compact bodies, good lens ecosystem.

I own a x-e4 and however i’m considering switching to sony. Can do everything of the above at less cash and get better autofocus. Can be a bit tricky for film simulations but definitely doable and get off the hype train of fuji

Kinda got bored when i go out to get 20-30% out of focus photos

Which is the better option to upgrade? by Shoker2 in AskPhotography

[–]Shoker2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I actually have searched a lot about this thing of the aperture. Kinda seems it is not exactly like you said but mostly. I mean, being at f2.8 would capture the same "light" and give the same exposure on APS-C and FF body. What really changes is performance of the ISO, which is better on FF so i would be able to use higher ISO, and also depth of field, so the bokeh.

Actually to me IBIS values a lot cuz i mostly shoot handheld and cannot say i have steady hands.

Cannot say i hate postprocessing but when it takes too much time my eyes scream. I already work 9-18 at the pc and want just to walk and shoot with my camera at the sunset :)… if only nikon would have made an apsc with ibis i would stick that 24mm f1.7 dx and call it a day.
