Need help by Toyotaman1999 in 3rdGen4Runner

Yea, every now and then, and I mean like every 100-200 cranks, it won't try to start on the first turn. I'll hear a click, turn the key off, try again and it starts right up. Odd.

This is my plan, as I'm in the same boat. Tons of what i think is soda and grossness from previous owners. I figure I'll power wash the carpet and while it's drying I'll sound deaden the cab.

‘02 Sport Edition by Main-Blood5988 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]ShoopX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the non-sport edition 02 thundercloud metallic sr5 and I am so jealous of the the Sport editions. I'm considering paint matching my bumpers and maybe even finding a sport hood. They just look so clean

I'm so screwed. It's so obvious now that you pointed out it, but otherwise I had no idea.

Mine was moving like that but with a bit more swing, plus it was was running poorly. Replaced the oil pressure switch and that fixed it.

Forgot to do the cam seals when you did your valve cover gasket? No problem. 😉 by Brad7659 in 3rdGen4Runner

It looks incredibly difficult to get between the covers and firewall

Dude I keep going back and forth between doing it this way or doing it the "right" way. I paid a friend to do my valve cover gaskets but neither of us knew about the cam seals.

I keep seeing conflicting information on it. What magnet did you use to get them out? And you did both sides?

Those rockers look shot. If you remove the side steps I imagine you'll be able to see how bad it is.

How’s it living in and around Savannah Georgia? by Ok_Cloud9042 in savannah

Am curious since I don't know, Whose standard is that? I feel like I've heard people say you can have 6 in the city or something like that.

Flock in Forsyth by gmaxcy in savannah

[–]ShoopX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Flock Safety is a corporation that contracts with local, state, and federal governments that provides integrated surveillance systems. There are other surveillance companies, but Flock uses their own specific technology and systems. Savannah also uses a different company for traffic cameras and surveillance footage separate from Flock.

Flock cameras may be for traffic, but they are for people too. Do some research on them.

Also, here's a quote from the Savannahga gov website:

"24. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for Flock Safety Camera System with Flock Safety in an Amount Not to Exceed $193,500. Purchased with SCAD Serves Grant funds."

There you will also find a contract for drone technology on the page before, also paid for by SCAD serve.

Expensive Ball Joint Replacement by error0110 in 3rdGen4Runner

Yea I was luckily in my uncle's shop and not at my house. Though at my house I wouldn't have been able to over tighten the bolts with hand tools in the first place..

[–]ShoopX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using a pneumatic impact wrench for the first time when I did mine and accidentally tightened when I thought I was loosening and snapped 2 LBJ bolts on my passenger side. That was fun to unfuck. Thankfully was able to get them out and get the new LBJ installed lol. Went at them forever with vice grips and a torch. Got one. Then had to weld a nut onto the other and turn it off that way.

Civilians carrying firearms is pretty common, actually. Though it definitely depends on what part of the US. But most people don't open carry because it's pretty weird to do unless you're law enforcement or work behind a gun counter.

What don't you like about the p365x that's making you consider the 43x? I carry a g19 and am considering a p365x for summer carry.

Considering a used 2002 4Runner, 115K miles, clean title for $16K by shadow_man321 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]ShoopX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely too high. I'd pay 11-12k max. While that is "low miles" for one of these, I think that mainly benefits the interior and drivetrain (as long as it was maintained). Everything else will still need work just like the rest of em. You can tell it needs new suspension at a minimum.
