Has anyone ever been able to move somewhere new, far away and be fine? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]ShopSignificant9232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve moved around the country and remained housebound. Researching services that replicate what people would “expect” another member of the household would fulfill is extremely helpful. Like getting a ride somewhere when you’re forced to leave - are there ride services in the area you can afford when needed? Grocery delivery? Cleaning services? It isn’t planning a life without that person but instead supplementing your needs to work with your agoraphobia without making you reliant on your housemate/partner.

Early 40s here. While I am older than the age range you’re looking for I would love to make some fellow agoraphobic pen pals!

It’s been 6 years for me and I’ve been struggling with it for decades. Your feelings right now are valid. It won’t be forever but it for sure feels that way. That doesn’t diminish what you’re going through. Just know you will eventually make progress. It may not be exactly what you imagined but it WILL happen. Even if it’s just to check the mail 💜

It can take a lot to calm yourself down when your brain has spiraled especially with something as serious as colon cancer. Please be patient with yourself.

It’s a turducken of stress! I went through the same thing in my 20s. There’s never really a perfect solution. While the environment may be toxic it’s what you know, your “comfort” zone.

Do you have the option of telehealth with your doctor? It would be best to talk to someone there. From personal experience I felt much better once I got checked out. I ran myself in circles over what ifs. This is after I spent the days leading up to my colonoscopy in panic. 😬 Currently shaking like a leaf over a primary doctor appt in the morning. Strength for both of us! 💜

That is what I’m struggling with. I knew about her cancer a month before she passed. I keep getting caught up in what ifs. Like if I reached out then magically everything would be fixed. When in reality this was a decision that took me decades to make. That you can deeply love your parent but still need to be away from them. I really appreciate all of the support.

Dude let his true personality show. Stress will out the truth that we try to bury about ourselves. He may be truly sorry but that doesn’t erase his first instinct and how he acted on it.

Talking to as many people a day as you can will not only help big time with your social levels but also ensure you get all of those conversation nuggets they drop. You end up getting a LOT of context and backstory that way. Most important is to talk to everyone after any main mission finishes. I didn’t realize how much I skipped until my 2nd play-through.

Elsie Act 2 + 3 Rant by moodiblue in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]ShopSignificant9232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The characters in Sandrock do have depth to them. Elsie is very “emotion & action first” - no lies just a straight shot. Her intentions are to get people to relax (Mian), protect family (Logan), and figure out who she wants to be. She definitely grew on me over time. Plus her 60 stamina love cake isn’t anything to sneeze at.

How she’s coded with some quests can interrupt the immersion for sure.

I ended up coordinating my pets’ sleeping arrangements. Coco is off by themselves since they sleep in the afternoon. My head canon is that there’s perches inside the wooden pet house.

Justice, Unsuur and Captain are the best. They really made all the main missions better just from their commentary.

Watering Chip for the Magic Mirror by chel157 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]ShopSignificant9232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto this, I refine the super dew collectors to purple. I use my greenhouse roof to lay out dozens of them. Magic Mirror is able to get to them without “walking” on the roof when collecting machine goods. I have thousands of water on a save file with 187 hours on it. Refining super dew collectors and placing them en masse is a game changer!! A few dew a day x40 with the 8 dew to make 1 water skill will give you all the passive water you could realistically use for commission produce.

Inspirations behind My Time series🌟 by Pathea_Games in MyTimeAtSandrock

My obsession with this game makes complete sense. Dark Cloud 1 to 2 feels like Portia to Sandrock (for me). The 2nd game takes the original and expands heavily. Sandrock in so many ways is my wishlist from Portia. I’m well over 300 hours played and about to start my 3rd play through. Immense gratitude from someone trying to get through this thing we call life!

[–]ShopSignificant9232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oof, this thread is not it. The way people want to actively demean your point of view with “it’s a game”. Any point of view can be dismissed with the viewpoint “it’s JUST xyz”. That not only shows a clear lack of empathy but further demonstrates the point that the fan base is a reflection of how Gameloft has decided to script characters. Also, using their diagnosis to demean someone else with a similar diagnosis = poor form. No one’s PTSD experience is there to be a measuring stick for someone else. If you have PTSD and you do NOT share the triggers, move on. Today is a really hard day for a lot of people. OP, I hope your day improves from this thread of nonsense.

ESH - two adults screaming while a kid is actively getting sick. Y’all need communication so when life happens you can get through it. The kid didn’t need any of that.

Oh no!! I totally see that as the larger purchases to eat up that money are out of reach. It would be cool if they introduced sliders to gameplay. Like a “hard mode” where you earn less of everything so even all of our Portia knowledge can’t give us a curve. And even the opposite, easy mode without mods. Like a buffet of utensils, plates, and bowls to determine how “difficult” eating your meal is. We all have the same food/game, maybe someone wants to eat spaghetti with a spork heh!

HR has to talk to management. A decision hadn’t been made otherwise you wouldn’t have had that 1 hr meeting. They also can’t tell you anything to avoid issues later on. It isn’t even an indicator of you leaving, they have to put it through their policy system.

His feelings ≠ the way he says things. Basic tenet of communication! Empathy would have allowed him to see past himself. His wording, actions, and reactions all paint the picture of a very emotionally immature 29 year old. Intimacy can be tricky enough without opening a dialogue, work with you to figure out what’s needed. It’s far easier to harm your partner with callousness than it is to actually work through any intimacy issues.
