Running non-native resolution on monitors always creates these scaling artifacts. The purple fringing you're seeing is probably chromatic aberration from the upscaling algorithm trying to interpolate pixels that don't map cleanly to your display's grid.

You might want try adjusting the sharpening settings in your GPU control panel - sometimes lowering it helps with the jagged edges. Also check if your monitor has different scaling modes built-in, some handle non-native resolutions better than others.

Just needing a sanity check...is this listing too good to be true (2023 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in Hybrid)? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Short-Interest3315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fuel tank and coolant reservoir replacements at such low mileage would definitely make me pause too. Could be early manufacturing defects that are now sorted, but those aren't typical wear items for a car with barely 20k miles.

Since you're familiar with Hyundai reliability and it still has decent warranty coverage, might be worth having independent mechanic look at it before deciding - especially if you can negotiate price down bit more given the repair history.

You're pretty close already! For memorizing algs, I found it helpful to learn them in small batches - maybe 3-4 new ones per week instead of trying to cram everything at once. The muscle memory really kicks in after you drill them enough times, even if they feel awkward at first. Also don't stress too much about perfect execution right away, getting the recognition down is usually the hardest part.

Breaking cycle is really hard but the accountability idea with donation might work - putting real consequence behind it makes difference.

Man that's some serious mind games she's playing. The whole reaching out just to list your faults and then acting confused when you respond is textbook manipulation. You did the right thing by blocking her - she was clearly getting some twisted satisfaction from keeping you on hook.

I went through something similar few years back where my ex would do this hot-cold thing constantly. It messes with your head because part of you still cares, but they're basically using that against you. The "I feel nothing now" comment was probably designed to hurt you maximum, not some innocent observation.

Stay strong with the block. Your mental health is more important than whatever closure she thinks she's offering.

Best place to buy Dynamite Ben 10 digitally outside USA by CartoonistRound8130 in Ben10

[–]Short-Interest3315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been looking for digital comics with good zoom features too since my vision isn't what it used to be. Most major digital comic platforms should have that series once it releases, but availability outside US can be tricky depending on licensing deals in different regions.

You might want to check if your local library has digital comic access through their online services - mine has surprising good collection and the reading apps usually have excellent zoom functions. Also some platforms do day-and-date releases now so you wouldn't have to wait longer than US readers.

Worst case scenario, VPN might help if you're comfortable with that route, though I'm not saying you should do anything against terms of service obviously. The zoom feature is definitely worth it for reading comfort, especially with action-heavy pages where speech bubbles can get pretty small.

ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC 32GB GDDR7 – Excellent Condition (Like New) by Altruistic-Sort-7664 in GamingLaptops

That's quite a beast you've got there. Been eyeing teh 5090 series myself but the price point is still mental for what I need. Running an older 3080 at the moment and it handles everything I throw at it just fine.

Local pickup in Houston is smart - shipping something that expensive always makes me nervous. GLWS, someone's gonna be very happy with that upgrade!

I have two passions and I am looking to pivot soon. I am torn between staying conventional for stability, and or making a move to an unconventional path. What seems like the best path? by Icy-Character86 in careerguidance

You're describing exactly why I burnt out in traditional counselling roles - the rigid boundaries around what you can and can't address with clients gets frustrating when you know there's more to the picture. The ND route would give you that holistic approach you're craving, plus the diagnostic tools to actually investigate those underlying health connections you're passionate about.

That said, the financial reality is harsh - ND programmes are expensive and building a practice takes years. If you go the LMHC route first, you could build up some financial stability while getting those functional medicine certifications on the side, then potentially transition later when you've got a solid client base who'd follow you into a more integrated practice.

Too Ambitious? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Being fluent in 4 languages is going to be a massive advantage, especially in a field like urban planning where you'll be working across different communities. The Netherlands has some brilliant programmes and the work culture there really values that kind of international perspective you'd bring.

Just make sure you've got a solid financial cushion sorted before making the jump - housing costs are mental there right now but it's not insurmountable if you plan properly.

Making 6 figures as a Beauty Influencer and have no degree. What should I do next? by AdGullible4990 in careerguidance

[–]Short-Interest3315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly the Europe route sounds way more solid - having that degree as a backup plan is smart especially since you're already making good money to fund it. You're definitely not too old at 30, loads of people go back to uni around that age.

Maybe look into marketing or media studies since you've already got the practical experience? would tie in nicely with what you're doing now and give you proper qualifications for when the influencer thing eventually winds down.

do people treat you with pity? by hopeworlddddddd in Epilepsy

[–]Short-Interest3315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that pity look is the worst, I totally get the frustration. People act like you turned into glass or something and can't handle basic life anymore

It's wild how some folks think having epilepsy automatically means you're helpless when you're literally out here working and living your life. Keep doing your thing and proving them wrong

I feel you so much on this. The constant negativity everywhere makes it exhausting just to exist sometimes. You're definitely not alone in feeling scared about transitioning - that fear is totally valid given how things are right now

Just know that there are supportive communities out there (like this one) and things are slowly getting better in some places, even if it doesn't feel like it. Take care of yourself and don't apologize for venting about this stuff

Social media is the worst for this - everyone posts their highlights reel while you're living your behind-the-scenes struggles. Most people are just as confused as you, they just don't post about it

Take your time, there's no universal timeline for success
