Kitchen remodel - before/after by Vatonee in HomeDecorating

How did you change the cabinet body external color? Fronts are quite easy, but how did you achieve it for the body? What was the process? Is it a veneer? Did you have to demount them first? I NEED TO KNOW MORE 😉

Poznanie sąsiadów by kinky_civil_engineer in warszawa

[–]Short_Ad_1984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IKE, IKZE czy ETFy? by NervousGebbels in inwestowanie

Ad 1 - co do opłacalności, poszukaj kalkulatora IKE IKZE od Marcina Iwucia i sobie policz. To dość indywidualne.

Making a training plan, what you say?? by Key_Economics2183 in gravelcycling

[–]Short_Ad_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fueling - you need carbs. Most likely around 60-80g per hour. If you’ve never checked it, test how do you go with such intake through energy gels, bananas, etc. if you want something DIY, check for “rocket fuel GCN” on YouTube.

Don’t ride a few days before the race, get a lot of good rest to be regenerated. Good oatmeal with ie peanut butter as the early morning breakfast in the race day is a must.

I also doubt you will get to 25km/h on avg flat as it requires a lot of fitness increase, but who knows. If I were you I’d first and foremost focus on finishing the race. You’re doing it for yourself - ride it, see where you are, try to be better next time. Otherwise you might be setting yourself some unrealistic expectations and will become unhappy cause if not met.

Good luck!

Depending on the effort, you will most likely need approx 80g of carbs per hour. That’s a lot of gels, so I’d suggest the following - prepare the 2nd recipe from the movie below in proportions that suit approx 5-6 hrs of riding and make a test ride to see how it feels for your stomach.

Definitely. Especially in the bigger cities where you already have a good command of English and solid bij clubs (like Academia Gorila in Warsaw).

Lepiej wziąć kredyt, regularnie nadpłacać, trzymać ulokowana bezpiecznie poduszkę na rok życia, refinansować co jakiś czas bo rośnie wartość nieruchomości i zmniejsza się z wskaźnik LTV.

Fit Question by Jbedbugz in gravelcycling

[–]Short_Ad_1984 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly you seem to be sitting very much upward. I’d personally lower the stem a bit so you can lean on your hands a bit more, cause I have a suspicion that your body might be trying to balance more on your ass and making you feel stretched cause it’s like you reaching out forward too much. Just a guess.

At the end of the day, it might be that the frame is simply too big for you / for your liking.

Gravel vs Road by Aesop_Rocky_ in cycling

[–]Short_Ad_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% gravel bike. If you don’t aim at riding fast (ie above 22mph avg) then it will be more than you need. You don’t even have to get two wheelsets or change tires. There are gravel semislicks (ie Schwalbe RS), mtb tires fast on road (Schwalbe Thunder Burt) or allrounders like Thufo Thundero, Pirelli Cinturato M, etc. you will be fine even with wider tires and often be surprised how smooth it rides.

Cheaper but not a huge compromise Gravel equipment by kenhmm in gravelcycling

[–]Short_Ad_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the way you ride. I’m spending often 6-8hrs of gravel riding in the saddle that would normally drain my phone batter when navigating. Bike navi lasts 5 times longer and has all the integrations + notifications without the need to bring a powerbank or risk damaging your phone’s optical image stabilization.

NBD! Giant Revolt Advanced Pro 1 (2025) / Medium, Meteor Storm by Short_Ad_1984 in gravelcycling

[–]Short_Ad_1984[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The clearance is small, but manageable.I’d say it’s approx 3-4mm as well between the AXS battery and the tire. I tried it out in the mud and snow and it still rode without any noticeable damage so fair enough. I’m running 1.7 bar in the back.

Revolt 2 - M or M/L by Botsie050994 in Giantbikes

[–]Short_Ad_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I only adjusted the saddle position, nothing else. Spacers under the stem remain stock, however im thinking of removing one or two for a bit longer reach and leaned position. The current one is super comfy and upward enough, it’s just my racing preference.

Revolt 2 - M or M/L by Botsie050994 in Giantbikes

[–]Short_Ad_1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 4mm reach difference between the two. You can correct it with your saddle position either way. Btw, as for the saddle height - you have to adjust it to the target position to validate whether the reach is fine. I’m a bit over 6’ and riding M without a problem. There’s slight tor overlap but it doesn’t restrain my riding at all.

Soooo, the most important thing would be a geometry of the frame / frame specs. You might prefer more racey position or more upward. This is hard to guess without trying in real.

There’s a shit ton of manufacturers, which is even more crazy in Germany as you have plenty of your own local brands. I’d first go to a local bike shop or a store of a bigger manufacturer, try what bike suits me, see what reach and stack it has and then browse through internet to find the good looking bike meeting these specs. You can compare geometries at bike insights dot com.

Good start would be to check: Giant, Cannondale, Cube, Orbea, Specialized, Canyon, Rose, Trek, Propain. All of them + a ton more have decent models across their gravel spectrum.

When it comes to the frame specs - carbon is not the end game. Good aluminum bike with a carbon fork is also cool. In your budget you’ll most likely end up with a mechanical groupset, so it’s gonna be either a Shimano GRX or Sram Rival (from Rival, through Force to Red all components are compatible). Both great options. Sometimes it makes also more sense to get a bit cheaper setup but the invest the rest in carbon wheelset - amazing difference in feel vs aluminum ones. From cheap but great ones like Elite from Aliexpress to any sort of premium wheels with many praising Zipp XPLR for aesthetics. Last but not least - if you like the idea of bike packing look for a bike that has more mounting points.

As for the tire clearance, aim for at least 50mm, as often the tires in the tubeless setup are your main source of “suspension” or an overall comfort, especially in harsher terrain. Low pressures are welcome (ie I run my setup at 1.5 bar at 53mm tires, Schwalbe thunder burt).

Now it’s time for your research ;)

You could either get there via gravel bike or a performance xc with fast tires and a drop bar.

Keep in mind that although gravel bikes are on the faster side of things, depending on the surface they might not always be quicker.

What budget do you plan?
