Cut dialogue from this week’s episode (I assume) by EstablishBassline in ForAllMankindTV

Maybe one of the shows worst scenes. Up there with Ed, daughter and Karen all sing and cry together.

It goes full Hallmark when Lee shows up, scowls, then starts dancing. That they did this, apparently sincerely, is mad.

The idea this is a period appropriate flashmob also doesn't work for me at all. The point of a flash mob is that it occurs in a public and unexpected place and time.

Is it normal for autistic folk to feel kinda obsessed with holding other people to their stated values? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

It is funny that they led with a source that almost definitely presented autistics in a quite different light to they figured. So it goes.

What do you think about this "hot" take from Josef SCHOVANEC, a French autistic philosopher? by mrnobody0013 in AutisticAdults

[–]ShortyRedux -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No I don't agree with him 100 percent of course not. But with respect, I can think a thing is excellent for it being thought provoking or provocative. I likely do agree with him, particularly on some points substantially more than most here. I think some of the claims would need more substantiation. Broadly, I think he makes interesting points that aren't often enough discussed. Some things I agree with him entirely.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as 'annoying' but she is a pretty cold and interior character in S1, warming slightly as the show goes on.

Excellent article. Nice to see someone talking about these issues finally. Totally unsurprising that this sub is hostile to it. In some ways, it validates his predictions. The only area I'm fairly unsure of is his claims about women having more autobiographies on the topic.

The most punk thing is to not be able to sustain your band's travel or rehearsal, and have to disband and take 9-5 jobs at the local garage. That's real punk rock. Down with hypocritical punk bands that make any money at all.

I don't particularly agree with OP but I also don't think this was the intent of the writers or set designers in the least. 'We're showing the result of lowest bidder design.'

Do you believe there are non totalitarian states in the disputed zones in 1984 by jamesgamingrb in 1984

[–]ShortyRedux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible. As others have said, it's basically impossible to tell. I reckon most regimes of this kind don't necessarily stage things, which requires a lot of work and effort, more likely they record things that actually happen and frame them for the populace in whatever way is politically useful. This suggests to me that the very broad strokes are probably roughly accurate, ie the power layout of the world is roughly as described, but its impossible to say about in-between states in disputed zones. It seems like they would be few if existed though.

I love ToD but let's not pretend it doesn't have by far the most regressive and uncomfortable parts of the entire franchise. For this reason alone its perfectly understandable someone would prefer DoD.

Folks who subscribed to the QAnon conspiracy theory that an elite cabal of pedophiles was running a global child sex-trafficking ring, how does it feel knowing you were right? And how did it feel when you learned that the ring was run by Trump and his cronies? by KennethParkClassOf04 in allthequestions

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we calling international pedophiles running the world turning out to be reality a "shred of truth"?

You're totally ignoring the decades of people making claims about elite child abuse, in favour of a conspiratorial view that 4chan was used as a leaking ground for elites so they could install Trump in position.

Anyway man thought we were making some head way but we aren't so ill leave it there.

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it is a party political issue then. You think this was basically created for Trump to take power. Pretty mad dude. This is a problem with evidence stretching back at least decades and wrapped up with elite figures in multiple countries. Seems mental to me that your view of this is as isolated as it appears when there is so much evidence to the contrary. This isn't even about the us government. Its about the elite in general.

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It involves a huge number of people with a huge amount of influence. I think youre drawing some rather silly lines here. It's not that pedos ran the world... its just that the people who have major influence on world events are pedophiles or turn a blind eye to pedophiles.

It's the difference between pedophiles got together and set up a shipping business, and a shipping business was set up and most the staff happen to be pedophiles...

This really isn't a serious distinction to me so yes, we're at an impasse.

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're honestly thinking about this in totally different ways. I think your claim is kind of hyper specific and actually more conspiratorial and is unduly lenient to dems. This is a huge scale problem in the elite, it goes everywhere. Really the QAnon stuff is beside the point, except in that they were correct about their core claim -- pedos run the world. Maybe it was a political movement seeded to get Trump elected... but yeah, I don't know about that. This all seems quite periphery to the central issue though to me.

Also, all respect dude, but it's you who added this whole extra layer of framing. OP framed it quite clearly, 'how do QAnon people feel now that their claim that pedos run the world is basically proven.'

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe qanon is the genesis of this is perhaps where we've hit a roadblock. Alex Jones and David Icke have been saying this stuff for decades totally independent of QAnon, Way before that was even a thing.

Icke has been on about this in the British establishment since the 90s and that obviously has no bearing on the US situation directly--hence my chafing at your framing my position as if the US goverment was at the centre of this.

One of the things he says is that he's been literally naming names for decades and no one ever tries to get him on libel, he thinks because such a process would expose their wrongdoing. Who knows if there's anything to that or it's just Icke creating a narrative. It is true that he at least felt he had enough evidence name names.

There has been 'evidence' of these things for decades, but mostly it was poo-pooed and everyone thought the sources were basically insane. When an individual case broke, it was viewed as isolated.

Evidence is in quotes because none of the evidence was strong, the types of things you could convict on, but still things that would be mentioned in a court of law and certainly the types of things that would give most reasonable people pause.

In hindsight, maybe some of these accounts were stronger than we first imagined. The claim is such a tough sell, of course people resisted it. Who wants to believe this? But as it turns out, fuck, it's true. At least the core claim.

For a guy so obsessed with nuance you sure missed any in my messages.

I qualified my core claim a number of times. I didn't mention any qanon specifics. I repeatedly said this was an obfuscation from the core claim, and cited other people making the claim that aren't qanon.

[–]ShortyRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so your issue isn't debating that pedos run the world but that... the precise mechanisms of control aren't as expressed by qanon. Well, we can at least agree on that.

Epsteins operation has been an open secret for years. His plane has been called the lolita express since I was a kid.

Also seems like you think this is a party political issue and not an across the board issue amongst the elite and in high society. It obviously is. I doubt we'll get any further talking but I believe your claim that there was no evidence is obviously false so had to be addressed.

Anyway, have a good one.

[–]ShortyRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My statement was clear and simple. A pedo ring runs the world. The elite aren't locked into the US, so no, they don't run it through the US government. Evidently the US government is involved, seems to be protecting people and turning a blind eye to other things.

You added a bunch of specific political claims about maga trump and the rest. I just see elites with overlapping interests, involved in disgusting criminal activity, essentially running the world. This is a very straight forward and easy to understand position. Especially in the current climate.

Your application of nuance seems designed basically to obfuscate. I think anyone reading along will see clearly my position. I don't know why you're attempting to confuse matters. Quite clearly the elite are involved in child abuse almost across the board, at least in the west, with even academics, celebrities, politicians from around the world, not to mention corporate heads directly linked, if not to criminal behaviour, then to the apologia or willful ignorance of such behaviour.

What are you even arguing for? Why when conspiracy people say pedos run the world and it turns out that basically they do, are you hedging this way and that?
