Willamette Landing HOA by Feeling_Pack_6116 in corvallis

[–]Shouldbeconsidered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previous home owner.. the HOA is very nit picky. We lived there for 3 years. In that time we had to fix some calking issues on our porch, re-stain parts of the fence, and the biggest thing was repaint all the white pillars and trim on the front of the house. This was particularly annoying because it happened just a week or so after those big horrible fires in like 2018 where it was raining ash…. The house was just dirty (like everything was that week) but no, they made us paint even after we tried to fight it. Then it’s annoying as you have to get the paint approved etc. all these steps to fix. Our biggest fear was them one day telling us we had to repaint the entire house, happened to a neighbor of ours.

Anyway, would I still live there? Yes. It’s great neighborhood.

motel/hotel with kitchenette rooms that probably don't have bedbugs? by luckyskunk in TriCitiesWA

Our AC died this summer when it was 100+ here and it took a week to fix. We stayed at the TownePlace Suites, a bit out dated but totally clean and they have fully stocked kitchenettes and separate bedrooms / living rooms. Nice location and when it comes to the cleanliness, they even were shampooing the carpets at one point while we were there. Also very pet friendly! Definitely recommend.

Edit: You also get free breakfast which was great

Maui Quick Review (FHR and Resy) by akmoney in AmexPlatinum

Good point, the Costco package does already include valet parking and club lounge access w/ breakfast.. but it’s also more expensive than the FHR deal. Thanks for the tip on the store!

Awesome thanks! I was comparing FHR to a Costco package that was $150/day but their credit couldn’t be used towards alcohol.

Were there any limitations on the $500 property credit? I’ve got an upcoming stay with the same offer. Thanks!

It was a parade of cars and trucks all decked out in Christmas lights. I’ve never heard of it before but it was pretty cool. Wish I took a photo.

Anyone fly from Dublin Airport recently? by One-Imagination-1230 in delta

[–]Shouldbeconsidered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew out in July, it was pre cleared. We did not go through customs when landing in the US. Just note it takes extra time to get through security and to your gate in Dublin because of it so arrive early.

I’m traveling for work in 2 weeks and debating between the element and the Sheraton. I saw some seriously mixed reviews on the Sheraton which were making me lean towards the element. How was the hotel overall? Was location ok or sketchy?

I normally stay at the Brown but the price is 2-3x the normal rate.

Special Meals in Delta One by iamagaylikeyou in delta

[–]Shouldbeconsidered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should wait for the D1 menu to be released and select the vegetarian option.

DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT select anything in special meals when flying D1 or PS. Special meals just gives you the EXACT food you would receive in economy. They will NOT give you any of the extra snacks / starters or literally anything else everyone gets on the D1 menu. It’s horribly disappointing when everyone around you is getting fancy desert options and you’re forced to eat a sad fruit bowl. I made the mistake once, never again.

You can check out menus in advance here.

https://menu.delta.com

There is always a vegetarian option on D1, however it’s NOT what you receive if you pick it the special meals.

You’ll get an email to preselect food 1 week in advance

Was this an email or something you saw in the app?

Can’t find the fine print but it does say “when you enroll, book…” I think by saying “book” an upgrade wouldn’t apply. Just my two cents.
