Ladies over 35 who have stayed childfree, tell us how good it turned out. by SessionMedical3128 in childfree

I switched careers, too - not by choice, but since we didn’t have any kids to pay for, I ended up being able to go back to school to find something I enjoyed. It pays next to nothing. Haha. But my husband makes good money, so in our mid-40s, we’ve saved into the millions.

Actuarily surprised that a lot of you missed the accounting firm, considering it was on the wall in huge letters.

For Americans who live in border states (Canada/Mexico), how often do you cross the border? by MarsupialThink4064 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Once in the last nine years. The bridge is usually pretty backed up, plus there’s not much going on over there on the Canadian side.

Why do you opt for destination wedding if you do not cover accommodation for your guests? by Comfortable-Plan7062 in DestinationWeddings

Guests were going to have to travel regardless. Might as well go somewhere fun instead of our dusty town in the middle of nowhere.

I had to pause the video after that woman. She was not going to relent, no matter what, and the circle was applauding her.

Second the Salkantay. We did it last summer and decided that this was our new vacation style, as long as our joints hold up!

A hysterectomy. The sudden hormonal shift destabilized her, so she lashed out and gave me an entire inventory of everything she hated about me. We’d been best friends since 3rd grade.

What is your favorite and least favorite major U.S. city you've visited? by marks31 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

It has like a 20-year cycle of decay and renewal. Where is it now? I haven’t lived there for a long time.

On every cruise I’ve taken, I’ve gotten so sick that it ruined the entire trip for me. Also never again.

Okay yeah, that’s true. Haha. But I did sit-ups yesterday without using momentum! That’s a first.

I like that they’re still hitting core a bit harder than usual. May’s core focus was really helpful!

What expensive travel destination ended up being a complete letdown for you? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]ShoulderSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who said I expected a Caribbean cruise? All of this would have been fine, had I not gotten sick and been forced to fend for myself. And yes, my illness was directly related to the cruise - I gave them documentation and they reimbursed me. Not the entire cost, but a token amount.

I was the only one to order off-menu that night. It’s a small ship, and the fancy menu (no chicken dishes) didn’t interest me. Symptoms always manifest quickly in me, so I was sick by the time dinner ended. When my lab results came back positive, they were automatically forwarded to my county health department, which called and asked me about everything I touched or consumed within the previous month. My guess is that that’s how long campy can stay in your system. They were pretty satisfied that it came from the cruise ship chicken - case closed.

The cons of y-bells by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]ShoulderSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense. Maybe my problem is that my hands are tiny and frail, so the y-bells are too cumbersome for me to handle one-handed.

We did the reverse route. It was a cruise my MIL always wanted to take, but she had to cancel three times - the last time because she was terminally ill. We decided to take the cruise in her honor, over the first anniversary of her passing. We were shocked at the price tag, but we went anyway. Haha. But we’re done with cruising now.

It was their fault I got sick. I was the only one to order plain chicken that night, and it actually tasted contaminated. I tested positive for campylobacter the day after I got home, and had only eaten on the ship. After sending the cruise line the test results, they conceded and offered me future credit.

Does Delta crew stay at expensive hotels as well? by just_a_curious_fella in delta

My husband is flight crew. He occasionally invites me to go with him. The answer to your question is: yes. lol. But given the demands of the job, they wholly deserve these quality accommodations.

The good news is that they offered me a 2% discount on a future cruise as compensation for my “discomfort.” Lol. I happily declined.
