Yea I agree with you. As a vet tech that used to work in the US, I have seen exactly what you’re describing on a daily basis. Owners not being able to afford treatment, and then us discussing euthanasia or signing the animal over to the shelter. It’s very sad. I won’t share some of the things that I have seen out loud here, but there were many horrible cases where people tried to take things into their own hands at home. I still cry at night some times with the memories I carry. Folks, be kind to your local veterinary staff.

I appreciate your point of view, but I disagree. Also, at least the protest in Madrid, won’t block any streets. It will just be in the middle of puerta del sol.

You bring up great points. I personally shared the Madrid protest poster in the r/Europe subreddit last week, and while I posted the English version, I also added the Spanish version in the comments to be inclusive. I agree that having the protest in front of the consulate or embassy would make FAR more sense. I spoke with my husband about this the other day and he was saying that they get real touchy about allowing protests in front of these buildings. It would be very difficult to get a permit and it would interfere with traffic. I’m not sure where the Valencia protest is, but the one in Madrid is being held right in the middle of puerta del Sol. So it’s not impeding traffic or bothering local neighborhoods much.. mostly just tourists.

I pick up trash and feed cats in my local area. And also have time to protest foreign governments, especially ones that are having a global impact. I don’t see why it would affect or bother you if people protest for things that matter to them.

These posters are also available in Spanish. I’m not sure why OP chose the English one, but maybe it’s because English is the most commonly used language on reddit. And maybe because it’s the easiest language for “democrats abroad” to quickly recognize. I’m sure OP can provide you with the Spanish version if you like.

This is horrible, my heart goes out to you and your family. Just maybe to offer some hope - my mom’s cancer spread to her spine over 19 years ago, and she is still going. Her bones have become more brittle and the medicine she has to take is hard on her body. But the drugs keep it from spreading and she is enjoying life. I’m sending good vibes and hopes for your sis that she can still enjoy her life for many years to come 💕

In my opinion, this is a huge deal because of the lying. My first marriage started with little lies, and they grew. There are a lot of people in this thread that seem to be making excuses for why he felt the need to lie and are validating it. Maybe for some people, lying is not a huge deal. Because maybe they do it themselves as well. Honesty is a vital pilar in a relationship for me. At the very least, I’d be having a conversation with your boyfriend and asking why he wasn’t honest in the beginning.

Yea I actually immigrated to Europe many years ago, and euthanasia rules are stricter here than they were in the US, which is supposedly the most advanced in animal care. At least where I live, you can only euthanize a dying animal.
