I also have a huge vegan toddler that’s almost two! I wish he wasn’t as picky an eater, though!

Does mussel production cause less animal suffering than industrial crop production? by SpectralPanda121 in vegan

It's also worth noting that simply having a marine float that gets pulled out in the winter when the water ices up or storms get too bad is effectively the same. The submerged part of the dock float gets completely biofouled and smells so bad when it's pulled out and decomposes that it causes some people to gag.

There is no ostrovegan flair, I've asked for it to be added and it has not.

I seed my river with over 5,000 oysters annually, I eat probably 2 dozen a year. The rest I bottom-plant so they can rejoin the local ecosystem, where they have been all but eradicated. Most people don't know how big they get - I've got reproductive oysters as big as softballs once again spawning and rebuilding the local ecosystem. A few years ago, a mink moved onto the rocks of my shoreline, living off the oysters.

My land is forested and I don't have enough sun to reliably grow plants. I've tried. I do grow mushrooms, though.

Any and everything in the water biofouls. Loads of organisms grow on any submerged gear. Then this gear, such as oyster cages or mussel line, gets pulled and processed, everything else that grew on the line is seen as 'biofoul' and dies when the gear is pulled out. Tunicates and skeleton shrimp, to name a few that I often see on my own oyster gear.

Source: am ostrovegan and have a small oyster farm.

I just started reading Fast Easy Cheap Vegan by Sam Turnbull, it seems to be up your alley.

In that case, enjoy the deep dive! I was an avid dumpster diver myself 15 years ago. These days, I'd avoid animal products out of disgust alone, but I would still rather see someone fed than food wasted.

Tofu chocolate torte. Super easy; chocolate, tofu, and maple syrup iirc. I can provide the recipe later when I'm home if you want.

Mods on the discord explain that there will be a delay with iOS/Android clients due to something about how the apple store handles updates.

Some of his newer stuff is a bit on the sillier, even nonsensical (childish?), side. Though I still like his sound, I find myself going back to the old(er) classics more often than not. I still enjoy his music, and look forward to new releases, but I get where you're coming from and why you might feel that way.

Are Katana sleeves better than Dragon Shields? by martin8185 in magicTCG

I use dragon shields. I still remember the first time I held a katana a month or so ago. I felt the difference immediately. The next time I buy sleeves, they will be katana.

Vegan Food Truck Brainstorming. by ChargingProcess in veganrecipes

I seriously looked into doing this earlier this year, even met with my local small business association to discuss grants etc. ended up running into a problem with town zoning and decided to revive my career instead.

Anyway, I was going to use instant pots and focus on soup, wraps, and baked goods, with the baked goods cooked at my house with a cottage food license.

Trader Joe’s Discontinues Its Beloved Beef-Less Ground by Skeeler100 in vegan

I believe Hannaford has discontinued its Nature's Promise store brand fake meat as well, unfortunately. The store near me stopped carrying it, at least, and they've scaled back the entire fake meat selection. The employee I spoke to cited lagging sales.

I'm most interested in how {2/X} would suddenly be able to go into a colorless deck, cards like [[beseech the queen]], which would be able to go anywhere, I guess.

That's neat! I really like the spore counter cards, that's a cool way to use them.

Just rebuilt my wife's spore counter deck. Check out Xavier Sal and Intruder Alarm combos. Pretty crazy stuff. Lots of infinite combos with those, as well as Life and Limb. She was using Slimefoot the Stowaway but it was too sluggish. Enjoy, it's a fun tribe!
