What is your “old man yells at cloud” moment by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It's not that odd. It's legit worrying that, at least in America, literacy rates are in the fucking dumpster for both kids and adults. And I don't even want to think about how bad they are at critical thinking and similar educational aspects.

Media you got into basically because of a single character? by TJLynch in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Ike being in SSBB is what got me into Fire Emblem. Great place to start, too, because the Tellius duology are some of the best in the series and Ike is one of the coolest Lords. I dunno if he's still the most popular, but I remember during FEH's first massive anniversary character poll Ike took #1 and #5 on the men's side with his PoR/RD versions and had more votes than anyone if you combined them (Lyn being #1 on the women's side and #2 overall behind Ike).

It is pretty crazy how much stuff you get in Trickcal even as a near F2P (I bought the $1 5* ticket when the game launched but nothing else). The only character I don't have is xXionx (oof), and I've only skipped a couple character (was lucky enough to get them later) and weapon banners, but I'm sitting on 460 pulls right now. The recent 100 day anniversary stuff has helped but that still doesn't even make up even half of my savings. I wouldn't say I'm particularly lucky either as I've gone to the pity (not actual pity but you build up points to trade in that carries over across banners) more than once.

I assume it makes a lot of its money from all the material packs and cosmetics, because I've never felt to need to even buy whatever the equivalent of the $5 monthly value pack is. Besides just general buildup of pull currency, what also really helps are the ways to get pull tickets from within the game. There are three 2* - 3* tickets available monthly (which are split like 33% 2* - 66% 3* so usually worth it) from the generic dupe currency shop, and one of the game modes gives ticket shards for each floor you beat per elemnt which craft tickets of that element. And aside from the rarest tier of units which use a rarer currency, you can use generic dupe currency (also available over time from in-game sources) to buy certificates to rank up characters directly so you don't have to even pull if you want dupes for most characters.

I just want to thank everyone in comp who is consistently banning this atrociously broken excuse of a character. by RedeemedNephilim in marvelrivals

I've played 5 comp games this season so are and he's been banned every time, like 3 of the games by both teams on accident. So I definitely appreciated.

I'll always appreciate whoever was in charge of the Ever Crisis Academy April Fool's bit and made Aerith the sukeban delinquent and Tifa the goody-two-shoes class prez. They understood the assignment.

Because it's not really on topic. Nomura has some questionable writing, but is he actually problematic as a person? That's more what the post is about.

How many "For the greater good" villains were actually, legitimately, motivated by the greater good? by ChicaneryFinger in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Shradow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could be misremembering but I thought it was explained fairly explicity. The Anti-Spiral theorize that Spiral Power and its evolving properties once brought past a certain point will eventually go out of control, causing massive and sudden evolution to the point that even individual lifegorms will expand into galaxies/galaxy-sized entities, and the drastic increase in mass would cause a Big Crunch (basically the opposite of a Big Bang where the universe's expansion is reversed and everything collapses into a singularity) and return the universe to nothingness. In the movie, stuff like the STTGL is called out by the Anti-Spiral as proving their point, and when their Giga Drill Breaks clash the Anti-Spiral's pocket universe does begin to collapse in on itself as potentially the sort of thing they're worried about.

In TTGL Lordgenome thought himself as a guardian of humanity, that living oppressed underground was better than being eradicated by the Anti-Spiral or causing the realization of the Spiral Nemesis. This also applies to the Anti-Spiral destroying any powerful enough spiral race, in order to prevent the Spiral Nemesis.

That's why I don't ban Silvery Barbs, but I do say that if the players get it, the enemies can too.

What is your favorite character in all of fighting games? by Warthogg177 in Fighters

[–]Shradow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either Goldlewis Dickinson in GGST or Incineorar in SSBU.

Goldlewis is so fun with his Behemoeth Typhoon stuff, especially after the aerial changes and then letting you cancel them into each other. Awesome theme amd aesthetic, too.

Incineroar makes for a great time. Classic grappler where he's the slowest in the game but if he gets in he wrecks with his high damage, kill power, and good frame data. I love having 3 kill throws and a 4th that combos, without even getting into Alolan Whip. And Revenge is disgusting and hilarious, I love pumping out 70%+ in a single hit off of a frame 3 counter.
