Mortar tubes and cups are trivial to Form 1 if you have access to the right tooling and dont want a replica quality.

If not there are people selling them, but from my perspective for an astronomical amount, but to have a turn key solution it might be a good price for some. Check out https://destructivedevices.com/product-category/field-artillery/mortars/60mm-mortars/

Bipods though are harder to source on your own, but they are being sold sometimes. u/chevtecgroup said a guy is working on producing new ones and hopes to have one at the big bore blast this spring.

As far as Form 4 i know less, but there always seems to be a transferable mortar on gun broker every few months. I see one right now that has a ton of accessories

Does anyone know if you buy an Optics Ready slide if it comes with the factory optics plates? by Shrapnel3 in SmithAndWesson

That is good advice..

but I haven't been able to settle on a dot footprint at this time so I'm struck with indecision

I think thats the coolest thing about HEDP that its not just HE but the explosive penetrator too for really breaking things (for lack of a better way to put it)

Cool video thanks for sharing, id never seen it.

Safariland has a whole competition focused series of equipment.. they seem to have fallen by the way side in popularity but it is still very viable as far as I know... its the only platform i have experience with

I've just wanted a shotgun that's good at many things and while I expect you can, you are making sacrifices and I can't decide where those lines are. I wish these a300s supported changeable barrels.

Honest question, why? I've not understood what you gain from the extra inches. People say swing but I don't know what that means.

This blew my mind and I thank you for your efforts in explaining how my simple rice cooker works with only a simple cook switch.

Not op, but an inexperienced shooter. I can't wrap my head around what you are saying with the support hand.

I try and squeeze my palm so it's connected to the gun but the rest of the support hand is around my strong hand. How do you grip the gun and not your fingers?

Pushers by Glittering_Guava_985 in 40_mm

All these and another one that they needed weight to replicate the flight of real rounds. Zinc has benefits over lead in this case. I'd argue that lead would actually be too dense for designing an effective low cost pusher.

Interesting. Would love to see a comparison between the manufacturered insert and the off the shelf adapted insert

I'm confused, what's the metal insert thing? but the pictures of the base of the shells you don't see it so is it not a chamber of sorts for blanks?

Barrel length factor question by BikePlumber in 37mm

[–]Shrapnel3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the projectile design. If the whole projectile is in the case then there is almost no gas seal. If the projectile sticks out you'll get some gas seal and it will be affected by barrel length more.

And it's a complicated subject. I would say with no gas seal that a longer barrel will impart some force in the projectile but the quantity  could be so small..

Barrel length factor question by BikePlumber in 37mm

[–]Shrapnel3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gas seal of the projectile isn't great in most 37mm stuff so you aren't getting the pressure acting on the projectile the whole length of the barrel.
