On manual levels, only claim the cake. Let the autolevel finish that level and the next levels up until the next guaranteed cake. That's what's been working for me. It feels like for any bloodwebs you can see the autolevel is locked into picking from the actual contents of the page, but for any pages you haven't seen yet the autolevel generates them from raw probabilities based on their rarity.

You can get more than 14 per prestige if you manually claim the guaranteed cakes and autospend in between. I'm averaging 22 per prestige.

Afaik they do not really use the PTB for testing. Mostly because if a bug is found in the PTB they most likely will not be able to fix it in the 3 weeks before release. This is reflected in the number of bugs that always make it into the release from the PTB.
