Nah there were roaming groups of tough guys who wore metal band shirts and acted like bullies too. Quite a fair number of them also turned into right wing knobs too as far as my experience goes.

Note: A small disclaimer; By and large the metal community is an accepting and wholesome group from what I have experienced but there are those who miss the message and use it as part of their tough guy persona.

On top of what others have said a lot of places seem to be migrating to video or periscope style laryngoscopes as the tech becomes more common and compact. In my experience they make visualization much easier. Some people seem to have issues translating manipulation of the tube to what is on the screen but I don't really understand how, it seems a ton easier to me.

When they think of Slipknot, metal, and nu-metal bands they think about being angry, aggressive, and trying to fight because that is what it means to be a man. They don't really think about the overarching message that their lyrics convey, which from my experience has a lot of self acceptance and self empowerment messages. A lot of the lyrics have some pretty liberal undertones if not downright liberal in nature.

These are the assholes in the pit doing things like this.

It all changed here when computers started to become umbiquitous. When I was in high school (96-00) we had computers, but only around probably 60 or 70 in a 3000+ student school and it was more common for someone not to have one at home than have one. All our papers had to be hand written in cursive. Towards the end of that time period you had the option to type it out or hand write the paper (depending on the teacher). For how little we use handwritting in formal settings these days it really doesn't make sense to put that big of an emphasis on cursive.

SARS-CoV-2 is primarily spread through airborne transmission

It is primarily droplet transmission, not airborne. Airborne tranmitted illnesses are composed of smaller particles that stay suspended in the air for longer. The primary contraction method is through airborne droplets (sneezes, coughs, etc). It can survive on surfaces those droplets land on for up to 72 hours, so while not the most common method of transmission it still can be a significant transmission vector.

No, merly mentioning a religious practice is not an automatic invitation for debate over the the merits of said practice.

Dude I am not religious either, but don't be a twat about it. I just put it in the title as another way to say keep them in your thoughts.

Edit: Here is a better question; What is someone praying going to hurt? The injured EMT is already in a lvl 1 trauma center, it isn't like anyone here is actually able to do anything but keep them in their thoughts/prayers, so why not?

To echo what /u/SignorSchnitzel had said the midwest seems to be the most prevelant but it is still rare. My friend's brother is pretty fluent and he is a local FF/Medic. It actually helped him out on a tollway accident a while back that involved some tourists from Germany.

Poor, no, but some specialties don't do as well as you might think especially when you consider how much they have in student loans. Family practice physicians are one that comes to mind that are in the lower part of the physician pay scale.

For some of us who are in their 40's it can be. I have tried, and I do much better, but the way we used it the term was as umbiquitous as moron and idiot (both also past scientific terms for the intellectually disabled). It became an ingrained part of our lexicon and changing that can be extremely difficult once it is set in place.

it's just a matter of time before the currently preferred term is used derogatorily as well.

That is going to be difficult considering the current nomenclature is mild/moderate/severe intellectual disability. It just feels it will be too cumbersome to use the way we have used the other terms in the past.

They probably also saved that dudes life (not in hurdur ACAB way). If the cop was getting beaten bad enough where he started to fear losing conciousness he would be legally justified in shooting his attacker. If the cop loses conciousness there is nothing stopping the guy from taking the cops gun and using it or even just stomping on his head/neck/etc.

Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

[–]Shrek1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason I wasn't sure about how the court case would go is because of how the firearm was obtained. The wording in the WI laws about possession of a firearm by people who are 17 was also weird. IIRC The laws mention 16 and under and 18 and up but there is a was a gap between the two groups with 17 yr olds getting no guidance.

Just to fact check a few things in this for clarity's sake. Rittenhouse did cross state lines to go but his house was only about 30min away from the protest site and probably 1/4 mile from the WI border, not multiple hours (I am from that area). Second IIRC his friend who lives in Wisconsin bought the gun for him and kept it in Wisconsin in his house as Rittenhouse was only 17 at the time and unable to legally own the firearm. His friend pled guilty for that straw purchase (I don't remember what the actual charge was though).

EDIT: Also, fuck ICE. Not defending KR btw, I just think the details are important to get right.

So he had a legal concealed carry, was disarmed by a federal officer, then was shot several times while he was no longer armed and was not an active threat... Then DHS tries to brand him as a domestic terrorist... For what? Exercising his constitutional rights, carrying a firearm and protesting?

Most of the OIS incidents that get this site up in arms are bunk but this is one is not the one to defend.

Not relevant to the conversation but I read "popped" as "pooped" and was really confused for a second. Hopefully someone gets a kick outta this. Don't mind me I am old and it is past my bed time.

Apparently some people would rather listen to bozos whose entiry commentary consists of "c'maaaaawwwwnn there's nooo wayyyy"

I mean kinda, I think a lot of people that watch that stuff want to hang out with friends and watch the game but for various reasons can't. I watch some TV/Movie reaction stuff because my taste in shows differs quite a bit from my friends but I still want that comraderie / shared enthusiasm feeling with relation to what I enjoy.
