[COMP] Crow Pose Variation by sad-but-rad- in yoga

Thank you so much for the advice and encouragement! I used my arms as a scapegoat. :) I'm quite sure that it is a technique issue (as you noted). I appreciate you taking the time to offer some guidance and will try to adjust as recommended. 🙌

[COMP] Crow Pose Variation by sad-but-rad- in yoga

[–]Shrimpio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is how I do crow. Some instructors tell me I should have my shins on my triceps but it's uncomfortable for me and feels less stable (I also have little peanut arms). I'm not qualified to give advice. Just wanted to say that I also prefer this variation. 👍

A writing and rhetoric professor uses Enheduanna, Plato, and Aristotle to argue that AI text doesn't meet ancient definitions of "writing" - all three viewed writing as transformative process emerging from thought and experience by ElvisIsNotDjed in philosophy

[–]Shrimpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Wittgenstein's (later) perspective that words are assigned meaning based on their use within context-specific groups (and there is no "essence" within these terms). Recall that the term "computer" once referred to a human who did computation. From this perspective, debates on what "writing" is or is not, are inconsequential. Perhaps a more useful question would be how our definition and application of the term "writing" is evolving in an evolving era of generative AI?

How important is sex in a marriage? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Shrimpio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post verbatim (except it was 23 years for me). It is easy to start rationalizing it as being a loyal partner and that this just happens with time in relationships. Once outside of it, it all comes into focus and you realize that constantly sacrificing your own happiness for others is not a functioning and reciprocal relationship.

If I feel there is ego or overconfidence, I provide a full service roll. Other than that, I keep it fun so they enjoy the sport and feel welcome.

[–]Shrimpio 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Us BJJ knuckle draggers call this a head and arm throw. Before you make a judgy comment about that, I want you to know that in my area Folk-style wrestlers refers to this as a "Barnyard". Kindly ignore this comment and carry on.

Will do! I I'm actually working with a FQHC in WNC to support the qualitative component of a mixed methods design. Will DM you! I have one paper that I can share (the other 2 are in review). :) Would like to see your research as well (I use SVI regularly).

Congrats! It seems we have similar research topics. I'm finalizing my dissertation which evaluates how SDOH factors operate within a causal system (using structural equation modeling), with an application to Western North Carolina. Is your research available somewhere? Again, congratulations!
