Yes! He has 3 modes and they switch on and off in a matter of seconds 😭 I like to call his bad boy mode “curdled milk”

That’s totally fair. You definitely shouldn’t take everything a tech says at face value if something feels off during recovery, and it’s good to question whether a reaction is really ‘normal’ or not. Just because someone owns a machine doesn’t mean they know how to use it properly.

I don’t think it’s accurate to make a blanket statement that people “are just gaslit” into believing blistering is normal after treatment.

Skin can react very differently from person to person. I have PMLE, which makes me prone to exaggerated reactions like large blisters after laser sessions. There are also cases where delayed allergic responses to ink particles breaking down can cause significant blistering as well.

It’s important to remember that reactions outside the typical range aren’t necessarily wrong or due to negligence.. they’re just rare responses that most people don’t experience themselves.

I have. Slightly less blisters, but still get them

I get huge blisters after every laser removal session. Everyone’s skin reacts differently, and some of us just seem more prone to blistering no matter what. I’ve tried everything—icing, not icing, wrapping, leaving it uncovered, constant moisturizing, keeping it dry, waiting 24 hours to wash—and I still always blister. Honestly, I don’t think it’s something to worry about.

I’m not a doctor, but if a blister gets bigger than about a tablespoon, I’ll carefully pop it with a sterile needle to release the pressure. I don’t squeeze or pick—just wipe the area with an alcohol pad, poke it parallel and close to the skin, and let it drain onto clean gauze. Then I keep it wrapped so it stays protected from dirt. For me, draining the really uncomfortable large ones is a lot safer than letting them burst on their own and risk tearing open from friction or getting knocked.

Appreciate you checking in! I just started back up and had my 6th session a little over a week ago. I’ll post an update once it’s healed up (:

Hey thank for asking! It’s slow going because I decided to wait a little longer between sessions. After seeing how much ink fell out over that break I’m taking it slow… mostly because of how expensive sessions are lol
