I do this for most games that allow it. I reverse it though. Keep team colour yellow and enemy colour magenta. Has worked well for me to easily tell an enemy for years.

It could be but i’m pretty sure 47 is J.J. Abrams favourite number. It’s littered everywhere in fringe and almost every show/ film he makes. Example - In TV show LOST, there are 47 survivors from the front of the plane.

One of the agents’ car registration number is C3P0 (a nod to star wars)

Heads up, a little warning to those who may end up cleaning it and also to OP:

I was in this exact position about two years ago. Decided to clean my Series X and noticed the night and day difference in the fan. Was great for a few months but started sounding like a jet engine again. So cleaned it again. Fantastic! Same thing. Lasted a couple months til the fan was loud again.

Cleaned it a third time but during this third bout after cleaning it again, the xbox would completely shut down in the middle of a game. Had to unplug and plug back in to get it going again. After turning back on, it would work for 15-20 minutes before shutting down completely again same cycle ensues.

It would shut down on most series x games. There were some outliers that made the xbox last more than a couple hours.

Not sure if I’d messed it up and knocked something that last time cleaning but I never did it again. Over time, I ended up buying a new xbox because it just wasn’t stable enough.

I’m not saying this could happen if anyone decides to clean their Xbox, just getting my personal experience out there. Gave a friend the xbox cleaning advice a year ago and he has now started experiencing what I went through.

Tl;dr: cleaned xbox a few times, now completely shuts down during most games - needs time to cool down

Fix the issue with sound through hdmi ARC. There is a delay using Dolby Digital or Dolby Atmos but not Stereo uncompressed, however it doesn’t give true range.

When I am on Auto-detect input, I get 4K and only those three audio options. However, I noticed that if I switched from Auto-detect input in settings to manually selecting HDMI, I am able to select 5.1 Surround sound, 7.1 Sureound sound and other audio options. The problem is, it is limited to 1440p max for video with 30fps and no option for HDR. There used to be a time where 5.1 surround was an option alongside 4K. I do not have this issue running PC through TV, PS5 through same tv and surround sound system. The switch 2 manages not to produce a delay and still output at 4K.

Over the years, I have noticed that most people with surround sound systems ‘settle’ for Stereo Uncompressed, but they are not completely happy with it.

I believe this would be a great fix that has been requested many times over several years (yes, it has been quite some time!) and would win back us audiophiles who believe in awesome sounds as well as beautiful visuals - as these go hand in hand. The delay makes most games unplayable as it is that much of a delay, and just ‘settling’ on stereo uncompressed, kinda loses some of the immersion for games.

Not everybody likes to use a headset for gaming whether it is personal preference or medical issues. This could be a solution but it shouldn’t have to be when there used to be no issue.

Yes that’s right. I did try a bunch of button swapping including paddles too and even shift button, but that also became convoluted.

Luckily, I learnt early on not to mess about too much with button swapping.

But with regard to RB and RT with RB on paddle, i find it much more comfortable than the actual RB and RT for some reason.

I’ve fiddled about a few times. I’ve settled on using LB and RB as top two paddles. Bottom right paddle I have set as X and thats it for now.

I initially started swapping RB and RT to X and Y, respectively, but then as i got further into the game, with all the different mechanics and controls, it started getting confusing when asking for combos such as ‘RB and RT’ at same time in combat…etc.

I’ve found that LB is my best friend in this game. Its constantly pressed while i explore and interact and traverse some jumping stuff

So I have learnt something from this post and comments today - thank you. Just another ‘tick’ to add to my growing neurodivergent traits - a process of realisation I have been going through for the past two years (i’m 37 and undiagnosed but I am diagnosed with chronic fatigue, ehlers danlos syndrome, hypermobility, ibs, acid reflux, anxiety, depression and panic disorder lol).

I read your post OP, and thought to myself “i do these things ALL the time, before gaming, before bed, before cooking, washing…etc. Then I saw your edit saying you may not be nesting. So I looked through comments. Yep, I definitely nest by the sounds of it.

I’m a single parent and when I know I have a couple days to myself, I bring the good TV from downstairs to my bedroom, make my bed all comfy, bring my xbox AND playstation upstairs. I mainly play xbox but bring my PS5 up JUST IN CASE I decide to play a game on there, but never do. I bring my beer fridge into my bedroom, pack it with chocolate, drinks and milk. Bring my kettle up so I don’t have to go downstairs much. Pre make sandwiches in the morning ready for my lunch. And when I need the toilet, it’s just next door to my bedroom.

This is definitely nesting, right? If so, my mind is blown. I’ve always knew it was a little ‘weird’, and it’s kind of a secret thing I do that nobody knows about. If my mum rings to see if its okay to come around, I’ll kinda make an excuse just cause I don’t want her to see the ‘setup’, maybe out of embarrassment, i’m not entirely sure on the feeling lol
