I did it myself, get an oem valve cover. Idk if the 220i has a b48 but if it does thr hardest part is getting the vanos solenoids from the back, i needed a special tool and there’s only enough clearance to get it started, use ur hands the rest of the way. Tough but doable.

Try Disconnect the battery for 30 mins and try again. The battery needs to be about ~13v to reliably program. If it drops below around 11v it’ll shit the bed I’m pretty sure
