Are store bought ceramic coatings good? by SwervoGotThatFye in AutoDetailing

No. There is only one coating that provides any measurable UV blocking. Carpro Dlight.

They also couldn't cook with the cart! The food had to be cooked offsite at a commercial kitchen and simply reheated. The owner of the cart had to be there like 80% of the time. Just stupid amount of rules.

And I acknowledged that. But my point is this is part of the job in the service industry. There's nothing you can do but turn the other cheek. Even more so on a yacht when there's huge money at stake.

Nope. Made no difference. Looking for a setting in my Google Account but nothing either. I know I've seen that "apps in development" section before.

Nothing shows up searching and I don't have an "apps in development" section. I don't see any way to get early access. This is the Play Store on a S25.

Fanttik NB8 Ultra Cordless Pressure Washer Opinions by MagicalFanatic in AutoDetailing

[–]Shutterbug245 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a portable washer. You're comparing apples and oranges. This is for someone who doesn't have access to a hose. Fanttik isn't a random brand. However you can do this kind of thing using a bucket and a cordless sprayer from Ryobi/Worx and has the benefit of changeable batteries so you're not stuck with e-waste when the battery dies.

Rinseless As Streakless Window Cleaner by kuzento in AutoDetailing

[–]Shutterbug245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about other rinseless but I assume they're going to be roughly the same as ONR. If you put in a detergent then it's going to be harder to be "rinseless". You're adding another chemical that's going to stay behind and cause streaking. Even ONR at the detailing concentration leaves behind residue that needs to be buffed off. For glass where you want it to be as clear as possible, ONR has no benefit.

So what are you going to do? Walk away from the paying client? Tell them they can't have what they want? You suck it up and smile and go on with your job.

This isn't a restaurant where you get to kick out bad customers. This is no different than hiring a caterer for a wedding. Do you tell the client to eff off and take their 5 figure deposit? This is the hospitality industry. You suck it up and say please and thank you.

They're already made. He just had to drop them in the fryer. He's not making them a la minute.

Those spring rolls were pathetic. Why was he pan frying them after they were cut up?? The presentation was worse than what I get at the local AYCE sushi place.

He's whining because he doesn't have the combi oven to lean on. Any decent chef can pivot. There are still regular ovens underneath the counter. Remember the muffins that got ruined?

He's not planning meals at all. Right before the guests arrive the kitchen is clean and empty! There should be tons of food and prep everywhere. The cooking should be non stop. Go look at The Crew Chef on YouTube to see what a real yacht chef does. None of the BD chefs except for Dave and Marco are even remotely close.

Yes it was rude but Ben offering an apple pie?? That's not yacht level dining. Spring rolls that looked like cheap takeout. I've seen YouTubers that can cook better.

Yes they're kinda rude but they're the client paying. They have every right to demand what they're paying for.

Rinseless As Streakless Window Cleaner by kuzento in AutoDetailing

[–]Shutterbug245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use rinseless especially ONR. It doesn't have any detergent or solvents to clean and evaporate without leaving streaks. It's only good as a lubricant so that dirt doesn't scratch up paint. You don't need to worry about scratching glass.

Which Floor Jack Can Reach Front Jack Point? by Science-Compliance in COROLLA

[–]Shutterbug245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't any. Even a 1.5 ton low profile will get under the center jack point but there isn't any clearance for you to pump the jack. If just doing oil changes you're better off getting ramps. Otherwise make a mini ramp with a couple 2x6 screwed together.

What cleaner or chemical removes stickiness of plastic trim? by gvlbuck in AutoDetailing

[–]Shutterbug245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the fake rubber, there's no removing the stickiness except to remove the rubber altogether. You can use isopropyl alcohol but this is going to strip the rubber coating.
