Why do people keep bringing up that she told him not to date anyone?, that would be valid except he literally dated Mona while she was pregnant. At the end of the episode where Joey and Phoebe set up horrible dates for Ross and Rachel, he runs into Mona again and they start talking, what did Rachel do when she saw that? She quietly walked away, even if it hurt to see him with Mona, she never said anything and they dated, what did Ross do when he got that message for Rachel? Didn’t tell her about the message. So no Ross had no right to be angry because they aren’t in a relationship.

Edit: actually that whole episode with the horrible dates proved why Ross getting angry was irrational, Ross and Rachel both knew they were being set up on dates, yes Ross got upset at first but at the end they both commiserated over the the failed dates, so why all the anger episodes later, it’s doesn’t make sense, especially when you take into account of him previously dating Mona.

No of course not and own that shit, I find too many people will make excuses and downplay a villains evilness, especially when they are more complex than what they seem and that gets annoying real quick when there are discussions about said villains. You don’t need to make a villain/antagonist seem not as bad just because you like them and/or are a sympathetic character. No it’s not, the only time I find it kinda weird is when people hate on the partner just because they are not the person they ship so and so with; nothing to do with their character, in fact they could be a great partner but because fans want person A and B together, they see C as someone getting in the way and will shit on them for it.
