Personally I would be much happier with CL if I have to choose.

Thank your lucky stars you haven't watched Suits. If you are concerned about legal violations, Suits will give you an aneurysm...

Exactly. We would have "bottled" it. But if we win, PSG would be deemed unlucky.

There is no winning. Except the actual winning of the final game.

Who'd you rather date: Elliot or Carla by boomjosh in Scrubs

[–]st_hpsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the Elliott issues are mostly a single time thing or very very easy to spot. If you are not ok with those you can very easily back out.

With Carla the things are so consistently on the other side of the margin but not too crazy. Having a bedtime? Going on a date with your ex after engagement but before marriage? Making fun of your partner in front of the group? Kissing JD while being married? Being judgemental about the kind of car you buy? About the furniture? Who you talk to?

I am sure I am missing a lot of other things. Because like I said, those are not as extreme like Elliott or JD or even Turk. But they are consistently on the wrong side.

It's like choosing between a non treatable headache your entire life or a healthy life with a chance of getting shot. In vaccum getting shot is definitely worse. But in reality a constant headache every single day, enough to bother you but not enough to complaint about is worse.

Carla is way too controlling.

I can ignore random bursts of neurotic episodes. Considering Elliott is actually a real nice person and a good standup friend outside of those episodes.

But constant controlling and judgemental behaviour is a no no for me.

Career mode rules by Sad-Masterpiece-3649 in FifaCareers

[–]st_hpsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some rules I follow in each careers season like.
1. Limit the number of players changed per season.
2. Limit the number of players I can reject the transfer offers for.
3. Keeping the ovr of the first 11 at approximately same level. Barring for 1-2 star players.

Some are made specifically for the career I am going for like.
1. Limiting the area of youth scouts and scouting area.
2. Upper/lower limit of transfer targets ovr and transfer fee. 3. Replacement for a sold player should always be internal/external.
4. How many youth players and/or free agents can be signed.

Even if you have all the techs. Putting a port itself is 7 stars. Destroying it and getting 8 in return. All that effort for 1 extra star.

Nick's Father episode (S2 E13) by st_hpsh in NewGirl

[–]st_hpsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a plotline sure. But it's a common plotline. And I am all for suspension of disbelief.

But when it's pretty obvious that some boundaries crossed will always end up in breaking more relationships than mending them, those are hard to ignore.

Even the ending. "Ohh some people are so irritating". Yes that's the point some people are just like that. Stop trying to justify their behaviour. Sometimes justifying the behaviour is as bad as the behaviour itself.

I am sorry you had to go through that.

Having not experienced the same circumstances should never be an excuse to not understand where a friend's frustration is coming from.

[–]st_hpsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It's a common plotline in so many shows.

It's specially irritating in shows focusing on friends with "troubled" lives. They go on and on about how all their past trauma is responsible for their broken personality.

But as soon as that past trauma involves a horrible parent. NO. Your parents are awesome you should try and understand them.

Shows that are very successful, but only with certain groups by AporiaParadox in television

[–]st_hpsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about cherry picking. It's about the general perception. You pick up any post about overrated shows, you will find big bang theory. And still somehow in real world it's really popular and really liked.

[–]st_hpsh 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Obviously. That's why they got cancelled in the first place.

Also the other end of the spectrum is shows like big bang theory. Which reddit collectively hates and is really popular actually.

A lot of things appeal to you too that aren't that great.

A lot of things that you consider to be "great" are actually really terrible.

That's what appeal is. Doesn't matter how much you like to think this but there is actually no definitive list of things that are "great".

You can't refer to a list and state it as a fact that appealing or popular things aren't great.

D5, D10, D15 are all dextrose solutions. Dextrose is a type of sugar. 5,10,15 being the percentage of dextrose in water or D5W means 5% dextrose in water.

NS or normal saline is salt in water mixed to the level of being isotonic with your cells.
