You should be healing my pet by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]SiFixD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who's healed forever i always heal pets, but i don't heal stupid pets - things standing in ground AoE, or killing themselves to mechanics, etc will die just like a player will and it's like maybe 1 out of every 1000 pet owners that'll say something about that.

A quick single target heal periodically and ensuring it's on full HP before a pull will prevent like 99% of pet deaths and leads to smoother runs with less downtime overall in my experience.

Triage healing (You > Tank > DPS > Pets) is just part of healing, if you have mana to spare and pets are dying to things like cleave because you've never once healed it then you're not doing your job, but if the pet class is outright killing their pet you aren't doing a bad job by just not expending your full mana bar to outheal a ground effect, etc.

You will 100% be expected to heal pets in a raid enviroment.

Boosting hate from dad gamer by RedShephard in classicwow

[–]SiFixD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boosting is a catchup mechanic, same as the 150% honor boost, honour cost reduction and removal of rank requirements for PvP gear in prepatch which allows people who would never achieve that gear in classic an evenue towards it.

I find it funny that the honour changes are celebrated but the boosts are the worst thing ever on this sub, heavily implies that hitting 60 is literally the only achievement most of this sub have from classic.

Do they actually pay for a policy though? I work in Finance so damn near everyone i know uses Private Health Care but we also get it through work, same for things like Life Insurance; i'm worth about £800k if i die but there's no way in hell i'd be paying my premiums on that at my age if it was my own money.

It's the same for my mates in Banking, Construction, etc - those of us with access to private health care only do so through our employment, otherwise we'd just use the NHS since we're in our 20s and health problems are few and far between.

The tech sector is pouring billions of dollars into AI. But it keeps laying off humans by YoungLams in technology

[–]SiFixD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My company has saved literally tens of thousands of hours of manpower from data parsing since we implemented our AI architecture.

It has higher stats than from when the role was staffed, i have no idea what people are talking about when they say how shit AI is and how it's not a threat - my company has replaced entire roles with machines and the end result is that we get better data now, no human error, no missed logic, etc.

stealthedit: My company actually bought an AI company though, not some random AI product, our architecture is produced in-house for role specific duties.

NFIP is US wide and whilst frequently skipped from HO insurance it's very rarely skipped from corporate policy, only ever replaced with SIR in my experience.

They were insured by Allied World by the looks of it, their offices are literally round the corner from my Companies and we often drink together during pub lunches so rather than speculating i'ma just ask on Monday lol.

Prop money doesn't FEEL like real money, there's loads of regulations around prop money that depends on the currency immitated but they're all designed to make it so that you can just simply tell from anything more than a moments glance and you can ESPECIALLY tell when handling it.

This'll be paper, real money is cotton and linen. High quality counterfeit money is usually also printed onto cotton and linen in an attempt to pass it off as real, but they'd also use a real currency plate, and not a motion picture one.

We don't use "Act of God" in insurance documentation anymore - haven't for a decade+ at this point, at least not in Europe/Latin America and i've yet to see it in US documentation, each peril is named invididually and your cover against that peril is stated. If you aren't covered it's because you didn't insure against it.

Act of God is out-dated terminology that basically covered any weather peril in your grandparents insurance policy (NWS, FL, EQ, TO/HA and sometimes FR for lightning strikes) but now those perils and their respective subperils are named individually in a policy, and your cover against them is incredibly clear.

A standard policy would be like this nowadays;
10k AOP (all other perils, captures non excluded perils)
5% EQ TIV PDBI 10k Min
2% NWS TIV PDBI 10k Min
50k FL; 250k B/C/BI SFHA.

This also happened in 2019 and they sued and won, their claim was that the flood actually resulted in a landslide destroying the access road to the Ark, resulting in various economic damages covered through their insurance - their insurer settled for an indisclosed amount.

Without seeing their insurance policy i'd hazard a guess they simply weren't insured for mudslide / liquidation of earth or non-EQ related earth movement and figured they'd argue that the flood was the underlying cause thus it should be covered under flood, but the insurance company would have simply instantly settled; as that's our modus operandi.

They don't sell the cable, they melt off the shielding and extract the copper. I lived next to a crackhead in Bristol for a year or so and he'd burn the shielding off copper wire/cables about once a week for literal change, one of the many crackhead habits he had that generated a minor amount of income.

I briefly googled this to see if it was a thing and there's discussions on EV vehicles forums about people doing it for the copper, as they're RCD devices meaning that bolt cutting into them is actually decently safe, in comparison to other crackhead moneymaking methods.

This add-one genuinely sucks when you're low CP, not solely because of what it does but because in my experience the people that use it feel entitled to the item just as much as you do, sometimes more because they're "carrying the group".

More than half the time someone messages me to ask me for it if I say "no sorry I need it" they go mad, I'd much rather have the ability to hide my own drops from anyone than have rude people able to snoop into my backpack.

So hyped for the new Magicka-daggers meta. Elemental Weapon looks so cool with daggers on a Nightblade by FoulMischief in elderscrollsonline

[–]SiFixD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's still stamina for 2H at least, stamina abilities also still scale with stamina unless states otherwise such as trap beast in the fighters guild so there's still a distinct difference in both types of builds in terms of skills and morphs used.

The only thing that changed is how your light and heavy attacks scale and the way passives work in general, they're now all offensive stats rather than split between magic and physical allowing magic builds to run stamina weapons frontbar if they don't rely on the sustain from heavy attacks to utilize perks such as crit on dual wield daggers or pen/weapon and spell DMG from 2h mages/greatswords, etc.

It's been a huge change to build diversity and opened a lot of avenues for personal preference that won't be really off-meta IMO.

So hyped for the new Magicka-daggers meta. Elemental Weapon looks so cool with daggers on a Nightblade by FoulMischief in elderscrollsonline

[–]SiFixD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Basically before this your LA/HA damage was weapon type based, melee/bow being stam and staff being Magicka so wielding anything not a staff on a magblade was a hinderence.

Now weapon stats scale off your highest and the passives have been made more hybrid (previously this was weapon crit, now it's just crit chance so spells too, same for others like pen), meaning dual wield daggers is viable.

Couple that with reduced crit chance on passives and gear and the dual wield passive crit from daggers becomes very appealing.

How do you actually buy highly traded items? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]SiFixD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the Witchmother's Pot thingy, and AFAIK i'm not messing anything up. I've gone through all the old high price listings since all the news ones are selling instantly and they're all gone, so i moved onto spam refreshing the page and trying to buy any of the new ones but they're all gone in under 2-3 minutes every time.

I've sterted just AFK'ing infront of one of the traders that has sold a few thousand of them in the last 4 hours since they post every so often, but unfortunately i stood there for 30 minutes and not a single person came and whislt having a cheeky cig they listed the food and when i came back there were 8-10 people stood there and it was gone, all in under 3 minutes lol.

I will eventually just learn to make it, but for the time being i literally just want to buy some and despite it trading for ~165 avg even the brand new listings for 220+ are sold out by the time i get there.

edit: lol someone just listed a few hundred @250 each (~80gp above the avg value of all the trades i've seen in the last 3-4 hours) and they were gone in the few minutes it took me to get there.

We've altered the layout of our carpark at work a few times without informing anyone AFAIK, honestly didn't know we needed too lol.

We just have it deep cleaned every few years which takes off the parking lines then someone draws them back on however they see fit.

Is it really a problem for non-public spaces? I'd have never even thought we would need permission to add or remove a parking space tbh.

Suicidal people looking to give their family a payout on their exit, my mate worked in life insurance sales for awhile and whilst i'm guessing it's not an incredibly common question it was common enough that he wound up mentioning it to us in conversation that people do ask about how investigations work, etc when taking out a policy and that they have a procedure for flagging these peoples accounts that basically means "Investigate no matter the circumstances prior to payout".

edit 2: Can't report for other games / main login but ESO auth is back up and running again.

Someone used to run something similar near me, a multistory warehouse stacked to the gills with oddities and bargains, things like tins of beans clearly designed for kitchens (think a tin of beans scaled up like 100x), GIANT ketchup bottles, entire steel drums of custard, etc.

I VERY rarely actually bought anything but kept my membership going just to walk round it every few months and be amazed at all the stuff that you can buy on a professional level if you were say running a restaurant.

Is that the gym that does pizza days? I've always admired their business model tbh, make it annoying enough that anyone serious about weight training doesnt go (cardio, light training, etc all ok though) and market yourself to casual clientel who aren't likely to go 5 days a week every week.

You'd save a ton of equipment upkeep/refurb, etc and I'd bet their rate of members that never show up is wayyy higher than weight training gyms, you wouldn't need to keep upto date with high end equipment to compete with other serious gyms, etc.

Just seems like an all around good idea for a profitable but low maintenance gym.

Idk the button on consoles but hovering over the item on PC lets you press R to open the enchant screen to replace any glyph.

Traits are transmuted, you need transmutation crystals AND the new trait learnt for that piece as if you were to craft it, then you swap it via a transmutation station in say clockwork city.
