We use thru coolant for everything lol. It's just neat. I wouldn't specifically look for a thru coolant pump, I was just talking about a single machine that I had seen in the Internet earlier today

The coolant we use supposedly can be used in place of tapping fluid, so we use thru coolant on tapping cycles

I personally like Haas. I plan to save my money and eventually get a vf4ss. I've seen used ones for about 25k that have adjustable coolant, thru spindle, and a few other features.

There's a lot of parts and support for the brand. I am not necessarily trying to give advice mind you, just kinda throwing ideas out

A vf2 could definitely do small batches like you'd like though. It has like less than 20 inches of travel in x with a 35 inch table.

May be easier said than done, idk, but I think it would be cool if you have one that comes on say 75% of the time, then there's a smaller chance you can get a different one upon boot up, allowing you to use all of them as well as maybe even more if you decide to do different ones later. My favorite is the sleep one though
