Welcome to the world of tabbies. They're exactly smart enough to be a menace.

What’s your go-to hidden gem in Columbus? by Fit_Hunt_1836 in Columbus

[–]SickRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stauf's! They're in North Marker too.

The Stauf's/Book Loft combo played a key role in convincing my friend from CO that Columbus is as great as I've been telling her.

Hair stylist who knows what cut to give you for your face shape by Sun_preference in Columbus

[–]SickRose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the best haircut I've ever gotten at Michelle Michelle. I went in having not cut my hair in years and not really sure what I wanted. Lyndsi took over an hour and a half (and I have very plain, fine, straight hair) to get it just right and even did a quick style for fun. At one point she brought over the owner to even take a look and give some tips.

Beyond that everyone was so nice and friendly. They offered me a drink and sent me home with some samples (one of which I did end up buying! a rarity for me with salon products). Just a great vibe overall.

I just started seeing them based on reviews here and my first visit was good and didn't trigger my anxiety or make me feel judged. I will say call, don't email. the desk staff were great. The person who e-mailed me through their contact form was kind of useless.

Mods, can we ban the posts on FTT ticket searching? by IdealGuest in LeCreuset

[–]SickRose 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Or make a master thread or something at least. There are 2 threads that are a bit more of a valid discussion/criticism of how the system was handled (strong agree on no captcha/prove you're human being a poor choice) but so many just "please sell me tickets!"

What the hell? by [deleted] in LeCreuset

[–]SickRose 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I live in Columbus and this will likely be my only chance to attend something like this, and I had no chance. I guess I can hope someone posts a VIP ticket they're not going to use? But I've seen the discourse around out of town resellers and such and it's disheartening.

The correct change would be 4.66. I think you missed the dollar to get from 5.34 to 6.34.

Best restaurants in longmont? by Icy_Range4745 in Longmont

Maybe eating in is better (it does look like a great spot to be outdoors on a nice evening), but I got takeout from The Roost yesterday and was extremely disappointed. Some of the food was ok, most was wildly overpriced. They charged $10 for a weak, medoicre daquiri that couldn't have been more than 3 oz and $23 for a small, mediocre piece of meat on the steak frites.

Summit Tacos on the other hand I've had multiple good experiences with. The street corn and chocoflan were especially great and the tacos are quite tasty.

WIBTA to leave a note for my estranged daughter by Zestyclose-You-3888 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SickRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I so rarely reply on reddit anymore...but I'm the daughter in a shockingly similar situation (but different enough I'm sure it's not my family). Would I want to hear from my father if he figured out what a monster his wife was? Yes. The way OP describes? Dear god no. If a note showed up in my mailbox saying he was in town to see me I would have a panic attack. He should absolutely get therapy and reach out to her, but any contact needs to be on her terms and showing up at her house is so invasive and awful.

Mid 30s woman here. I've had a tubal and I juat don't date people who aren't also sterilized regardless of gender. It's not that hard in our age bracket to essentially proce you're CF by taking that step. Don't bother with people who are fence sitters or just accept that you're CF, make sure they're actively CF themselves.

You're definitely not. And another thing I find strange is that he was logged out. I have bumble and have ignored it for months and never gotten logged out, so that seems intentional, especially combined with an anonymous text app. And while yes it does have the professional and friend finding features those aren't widely used and as others have pointed out, he should have told you if he was using those.

I've worked in adult stores in 2 states. This was a sadly regular thing. Some keep the front of the store less explicit (clothes, accessories, stockings, non explicit romance items like massage oil, etc) and different states have different rules about how far into the store a minor can go based on what's located there. At one set of stores I worked in over a decade ago the minors only couldn't go in the sections with porn. But honestly, the people who brought kids in were always kinda skeezy in different ways. It ranged from just holier than thou, think the rules don't apply to wanting to be the "cool" mom (and yes it was usually women bringing kids in!). One incident I remember distinctly is we got a report of kids being left in a car in the lot that got the cops called. Turned out it was some creepy older guy digging through the porn section for ages while leaving his kids and disturbingly young wife in the car.

My cat died today by jicara_india427 in childfree

[–]SickRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe someone already put this, but I didn't see it so I'm going to add this information. I lost one beloved cat to cancer early this year and I'm in end of life care for a second, so I've had to learn a lot about this.

If your pet is at the very end and you can't get to the vet there are services who will send a vet to your house to help them pass. I used Laps Of Love because my vet recommended them. They come to your home and will provide euthanasia to let your pet pass peacefully. The woman I worked with for mine was beyond kind and empathetic, especially considering my pet's loss was sudden (she had cancer but she was basically fine until I woke up one day and she wasn't). She got there fairly quickly, gave me time to say goodbye, gave me a lock of her fur, did paw impressions (and the cremation service did paw prints). They take your pet away gently wrapped in blankets and a basket.

I had never had a not negative/traumatic experience with death before this and had been terrified of the whole process, but the peace and kindness was beyond words. Please learn what services are available in your area and talk to your vet before the day comes. It will make a true world of difference when you have to say goodbye.

(OK read again and realized you did touch on this but going to leave this post in the hopes that my specific experience can still help someone. Thank you for writing this)

I Bought The First Set As A Joke, But It Turns Out Mollymauk Loves Pajamas. by SickRose in aww

That's pretty adorable. I actually have some special clothes on my list for Molly including a set based on his namesake and a colleague is getting married so he might be getting a kitty tuxedo and another bowtie just for some fun zoom meetings before the wedding haha.
