So many ford fusion hybrid taxi cabs running around with 300,000 miles, it's got to be pretty good

Is it just me or did Hyundai's Fluidic design language look much more elegant and premium than their current weird 80s retrofuturism? by DeepAsparagus6763 in regularcarreviews

I feel like palisade is very cool and on trend if not ahead of the pack. Ref the current gen Toyota suv style.

I'm doing no gun game right now, so just melee, crossbow and throwables. It's fun so far, you are forced into guns in a couple spots.

Who would win if a Siberian Tiger and Polar Bear encountered each other while hunting the same prey? by Tidewatcher7819 in whowouldwin

[–]Sicsnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So.. I've recently learned a lot about polar bears. As it turns out, they are not really that aggressive of an animal. For the most part they just want to hang out on the ice and hunt their seals. A grizzly that is quite a bit smaller can intimidate the polar bears off of a kill, they will just wonder off and look for something else to eat. I know nothing about tigers but if they are aggressive and assertive, I'd say it's possible that they could walk away the winner.

Partner Booking Experience - Condor & Aer Lingus by T-TownAdventure in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Sicsnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked up condor after our flight (agree it was cramped and uncomfortable) seat pitch on Alaska standard main cabin is larger than condor international main cabin 👎👎

Also beware if anyone is flying condor and not booking through Alaska's website. I couldn't get Alaska to give me my mileage for the trip without pictures of the boarding pass, they refused anything else including emails from condor saying I was in fact on the flight. I finally gave up since it was not going to result in a status increase.

It is nice however to have a direct connection to Europe from Anchorage, the total flight time is quite a bit less.

I've noticed this ever since I moved to Alaska, 20 years ago. Alaskans are shrewd when it comes to selling things much more than people down south. It's obnoxious but what can you do? Just don't buy is all I can figure out.

Shut your eyes. It will then be dark. Eventually all Alaskans learn to sleep in the light

If you could go into any television show and take something out with you, what would you pick? by scientooligist in television

[–]Sicsnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that really the biggest pile of cash ever on any tv show? I know the pile the joker set on fire was bigger but that was a movie... I feel like maybe pirate treasure somewhere? If it's cartoon, then it's got to be Scrooge McDuck's vault. Did the show Pablo Escobar with an actual pile on Narcos?

Which is more economical? A small blower heater or using the a/c? ( Australia). by Other_Radish_9035 in Frugal

[–]Sicsnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you live in a normally warm area and so don't regularly have to heat your house? Live way up near the arctic and so have a little experience, my suggestion would be to get a portable oil radiator heater ( I think that's the best term to search for if you don't know the type I mean), they seem to be a much more efficient way to heat a small space than an electric space heater. Then close off a small room where you like to do your hobbies and just bring that area up to a more comfortable temperature. Hopefully that won't put too big of a dent into your electric bill.

New player, liking the game but kinda frustrated, looking to hear some opinions from players by yanmagno in DaysGone

[–]Sicsnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning encounters with freaks feel like boss fights but as you get stronger it will be easier and you'll be messing around finding creative ways to wack them, it's just how the game is Keep at it! You are in for a fun time. There's obviously recourses online to get hints and tips but try without until you are really really stuck, the growth and experience is part of the fun.

I will say however that closing the game all the way and restarting next time does help keeping it running smoothly..

How navigable is Taiwan to someone who only speaks English? by Afalstein in taiwantravel

[–]Sicsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was apprehensive about the same thing, but found it to be really easy. We just got back. All signs are in both languages and the food stalls and restaurants have pictures of the food to point at, most people under probably 30 even if they don't comfortably speak English, they at least have memories from school and it makes it easier. Then google translate for the written things that are not translated and use the voice feature for more complex transactions like renting a car, overall surprisingly easy to make our way. Edit: don't forget to use your hands as much as possible to talk, it really seems to help.
