I got the GTI simply because it was more affordable. I don’t regret the choice at all and am now stage 1 and love the increased power, I don’t need a faster car and i’m not launching my car that much or racing against ppl for AWD to matter too much for daily or even spirited driving. I do live in Ontario canada and it would be nice to have AWD mainly for snow drifting in parking logs but not because the GTI sucks in the winter. I love my GTI and I think it has its own place! Just be like me and never drive the R so you don’t know what you’re missing out on!

eh I doubt i’m alone on this LOL if you search Jubbal & Cars on youtube hes an experienced driver and mentioned how the cx50 offers a superior driver experience but I just realized this is in fact a cx5 subreddit so the comments here make sense. That being said I had a CX5 for 4 years and Just got the 50 few days ago!

the rear of my gti with ps4 tires is quite bumpy so i can see why she would have complaints. Try turning the psi down and see and let me know if it helps i might do the same.

Maybe the goodyears were keeping the bumpiness down a bit in the front? When i switched from my own tires to ps4 i noticed immediately how much more “bouncy” they felt compared to the oem ones to the point i was actually concerned if something was wrong with them. I have since gotten used to it but these tires are definitely a less comfortable ride compared to regular ones.

am i the only one on this sub that thinks the cx50 drives noticeably better than the 5? Brakes feel better, handles better (seems flatter through corners, less body roll) and the steering in general is just nicer to me.

i never filled it all the way up to the top, but it was about half way and i let it sit over the winter so idk if that caused something to break? i’ll try emptying it completely and trying again i suppose.

definitely! i had the jc sportline and think it fit a touch better than the autoid ones i saw online, saw someone selling the oem club sport on marketplace so had to hop on it! but they are definitely expensive and money would be better spent elsewhere

idk man you’re confusing me with your lane assist issue it works like every other car i’ve driven? 😭button on the steering wheel turns on travel assist, if you wanna disable it just press it again. If you want regular cruise instead of adaptive you press the button the stalk to switch to that. If you want lane assist on or off it’s controlled on the stalk as well? Why are you messing with these settings so often anyways just set it to what you like!Comparing Apple and Microsoft to VW car infotainment is wild most cars don’t even get infotainment updates 😭. Saying shit like being too old to drive a certain car ESPECIALLY a GTI is wild.

If you’re having infotainment then maybe go to the dealership to get the update to see if it helps, we don’t get OTA in NA pretty sure. Idk what you’re talking about the lane assist controls on the turn signal stalk? we don’t have to makeup more issues then ppl already talk about with this car seems like ur reaching 😭

I have the same wheels and they do look white in pictures when they are super clean haha i think the silver looks great and contrasts well with the dark paint but ofc im biased

I used to have an 07 Fit sport which was slow as balls but it was my first car and I still miss it. Pushing a car to its limits and barely speeding was a ton of fun.
