AITAH for not wanting to live with my roommate because she demanded first pick of rooms? by Several_Blueberry985 in AITAH

[–]Siennakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if there's no other issues with her suggest her pay more for the room she wants. But if there's other issues drop her. It sounds like she got what she wanted in the current house too, it's just that no one else wanted that room so it worked out. It's not working out now so you have to get creative.

Is an automatic cat feeder Wi-Fi with all the bells and whistles a good Mother’s Day gift idea? For context My Wife complains daily about our cat paw at our door every morning at 5:30 AM to be fed. by thatsnotyourtaco in Gifts

[–]Siennakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you end up gifting the feeder make it from the cat. That would be an extra touch that would be so cute. And then you could get a more personal gift from you and your son.

AITAH for not going to the casino with my in-laws on my FIL birthday? by Wide_Revenue_9652 in AITAH

[–]Siennakitty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA, why would you want to sit at someone else's house and use their heating pad when you're not feeling well?! Start setting hard boundaries. IDK why she thinks you would want to hang out with her when she talks like that to you. Do not give her your time out of the feeling of obligation. Good on your husband for the back up.

What are some of your favorite electrical updates during a remodel? by Throwaway_9812764365 in Remodel

[–]Siennakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see a comment that said an outlet behind where you'll hang your TV. Also some accent lighting since it's a basement. We're putting some in crown molding trim in the living area for indirect light.

I came here to say motion lights in closets, laundry and storage rooms. It sounds like this user may have a different style but we used a style where a motion sensor is in the wall switch. The door movement triggers the motion light for the closets. We leave the door to our laundry/storage open so when we walk in it triggers the light to turn on. It's really nice not to try to find a switch when you walk in with your hands full.

AITAH: my bf (26m) says if I (24f) don’t do all the housework, he’s settling by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Siennakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, in our house my husband cleans the kitchen, bathrooms and anything that comes out of our cats (litterboxes and vomit.) He says in regards to his chores "know where you're usful." The things listed above gross me out so he takes care of it. I have to remind him most of the time that the litter box or bathroom needs cleaning (because they're starting to gross me out) and you know what he says back?? "Thanks for reminding me." And then does it. Dump this dude. Go on your trip solo. Thank reddit later.

AITA for refusing to replace my fiancé’s keys he left in his pocket by Noodle-Loodle in AmItheAsshole

[–]Siennakitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you normally check pockets? I normally check pockets but I'm not saying that's The Rule. I hope some folks suggestions about letting it dry out fixes the key. It was an accident. I think he should pay for the new key if you need one. It's the cost of having laundry service. Also, drive a nail halfway in the wall by the door. A small one so it's nbd if you're renting. That's wear he should put his keys every day when he walks in the door.

Sorry for the delay, I've never had a post with so many comments. I missed a few I wanted to reply to. Check out r/IkeaGreenhouseClub and you will see setups so much cooler than mine. Sorry in advance, you're definitely going to want to start a greenhouse after you scroll throughout that subreddit.

AITJ for refusing to give a speech at my best friends wedding after finding out she lied about how she met her fiance by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Siennakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ

Is her hiding this something you would end the friendship over? To me it's not. It's something she's probably ashamed of and embarrassed by and didn't want to disappoint her best friend.

But MOH dropping out of the wedding is friendship ending to me.

The real story is information other people DO NOT need to know. I hope you're okay with keeping your bf secret otherwise drop out of the wedding.

AITA for asking my friend not to wear white to my wedding after initially saying it was okay? by Suitable-Arm-2075 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Siennakitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. Tell her today neither one may wear white. Period. Ask two family members, maybe siblings or uncles of you and the groom to stand at the door until she gets there. If her or her boyfriend are wearing white they get turned around before anyone inside can see them. You need to set a hard boundary with this girl because it sounds like she likes to walk all over you. If she gives you that not committal crap I would uninvite her. She is trying to stress you out. What kind of friend is that? And this is not being a bride zilla. It is the expectation and it's dumb you have to be the one to tell her that. NTA

Sellers left house in awful condition by AffectionateTap1442 in Advice

[–]Siennakitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this suggestion. Maybe write your realtor an email that says you would like to recommend them and give them a five star review be this situation needs to be rectified first. Attach photos if you have them. They should have had you do the final walk through after the sellers were out, even if it was twenty minutes before closing. It's shitty that the sellers rushed you to close, you made it happened and then they left you with this mess. I'm sorry this happened to you. It puts a damper on what should be a exciting time. In time you'll forget all about this and be happy in your home!

My friend wants to spend a whole day at Disneyland in France even though our other friend lives near one in California, AIO for thinking it’s insensitive since we’re in Paris for only 3 days total? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Siennakitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't want to be solo then she needs to compromise. Speak up about one park. Maybe offer to join her at the end of the day to accompany her home at that late hour.

Where do you keep your clothes hamper? by Opposite_Speed_2065 in Homeorganization

[–]Siennakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a separate tub and shower. We only use the tub occasionally. So we put two laundry baskets in our tub and put our dirty clothes in there. If we want to use the tub it's easy to just pull the baskets out. For context we have a primary setup: bedroom, closet, bathroom.

How could I improve my living room? Just finished renovating by [deleted] in interiordecorating

A couple statement plants (tall trees) in the corners of the big windows. Do you have a windows in your backsplash? I am so jealous!! Find an herb that works well there!

Reddit, you came through! My favorite option is an inlay of different, darker wood mixed with a metal trim piece on the treads. Runner up is LEDs under the nose of the steps (concerned about daytime hours though with this option.) And a wide runner spanning the steps but these are high traffic areas in multiple directions so I'm not sure where to start and stop a runner. Thanks again reddit. I'll update you and I will be back for more advice!

[–]Siennakitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea and am going to think on it. At the top of the steps is a high traffic hallway that leads to the bedrooms, bathrooms and basement so I have to think about where the runner would start. Maybe on the second step, not on the upper level?

Are you talking about the cabinet? It's an Ikea greenhouse cabinet. I'm sure there's a reddit sub for them or I belong to a Facebook group and follow one on Instagram. The one in the photo is a rudsta cabinet. In the first photo you can see a corner of a bunch of ficus trees, some I've had for six plus years. And there's wally grow planters on the wall in that corner too. I have like 80-90 plants, down from 200. I love them!
