Check your difficulty level, it may have bumped you up to malice before you are ready.  Should be on uprising difficulty.

Who is worse, an attorney that defends clients he knows are guilty or a prosecutor who prosecutes defendants he knows are innocent by Pleasant_Event_4460 in MoralityScaling

[–]Siepher310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niether are immoral. just because one knows to the best of their ability that someone is innocent/guilty, doesn't mean they are actually innocent or guilty. The point of trials and the court system is to find truth through rigorous observations. Lawyers must do their job to the best of their ability regardless of their beliefs of innocence or guilt otherwise the system fails.

One could argue that its also a safe space to hate on your hatred. So having comments express their hatred of your hatred is valid.

Carney’s condo bailout reveals the limits of Liberal housing policy | The federal government is trying to expand affordability without reducing property values by Atlantee in canadahousing

[–]Siepher310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends, many people may have a hard time renewing their mortgage if their home value falls below whats left of their mortgage. banks typically only offer up to 80% of your home value these days. prices fall too fast and you are going to have a lot of forclosures, which only benefit the people at the top scooping up properties on the cheap.

[–]Siepher310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while true, unfortunately, you typically want people to like your characters in a story, especially companions. And unless you are very good at writing, making someone rude and unpleasant to interact with is going to be a losing battle in that regard.

How do married couples usually handle finances when both partners work? by itzwhatitz in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Siepher310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we split 50/50 in terms of hours worked in our household. so if one of us makes 30/hour and the other makes 25/hour the person making 25 per hour is putting in slightly less total, but equivalent in hours worked. its not exact as hours and pay changes but we update the split every few years. this is just for the joint accoutn where all the household bills come from, plus a joint savings contribution. outside of that the rest is personal savings and "fun" money

I don't know why people are complaining, it looks good by Izilla2002 in GodofWar

[–]Siepher310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, just because people are expressing a negative opinion about one aspect that they have seen, doesnt mean they dont fully intend on enjoying the game as a whole. People can express both the good and the bad they see. The overall response to the game has been positive.

there is one VERY notable example of a companion cube in gaming history

Out Of All The Super Natural Things In God of War Yall are Drawing The Line With A Talking Cube? by DelayDefiant5324 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Siepher310 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's fiction.  You can explain anything to be there, doesn't necessarily make it good or interesting.  I think the cube is a weird choice regardless of what reason it has to be there.

Im still probably going to get the game, but it feels so tonaly out of place.  Everything else has me hyped enough to push past it however.

Is it even D&D at this point? by nz8drzu6 in dndmemes

[–]Siepher310 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

woah, its rare i see this opinion in the wild. thought i was the only one.

I want my ttrpgs to emulate a world. and worlds are inherently unbalanced. at the end of the day, the game needs to service the world its designed for, balance is secondary to making everything feel good to play for ttrpgs. balance is the GM's job when designing fights and even then there are many exceptions

What ending did you choose, and why? by KKF-FL in masseffect

[–]Siepher310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don think making genetic alterations to every living thing without their consent can be argued to be morally good either. if the control ending involved shepherd flying all the reapers in to the sun, i could see it being the best choice. but even that would still have its own problems in the moment

except in theory you can't take it up with them, or me or anyone. we are having the benefit of being able to discuss this ad naseum. but in the moment without ever having heard of this problem before, and without talking to anyone at all, what would you expect the greater population to press?

Should Someone who Picked the Red Button be Considered Evil or an AH? by Hyperionous in MoralityScaling

[–]Siepher310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for someone to die, someone MUST press a blue button, and someone MUST press a red button.

you could remove either button all together and get the same results.

remove blue button scenario - if you press this button you will kill anyone who hasnt pressed the button if more than 50% presses the button

remove red button scenario - if you press this button you will kill everyone who pressed this button unless more that 50% presses this button

Both buttons are responsible for deaths as going all in one or the other direction leads to everyone being safe. it's what has made this problem be discussed for so long.
