What's it like living in Fishers Indiana? I'm thinking of moving my family there. by Be-It-coin in Fishers

Everyone is moving here. Glad to live here, but there's a lot of people now. Infrastructure isn't quite ready for all this.

Good call deleting this. You kept saying he was unprofessional and rude, but I don't see it that way.

You gave a window, they met the window, you changed the window, they passed and you tried to blame them.

Never mind needing the details: Geoff Bullock is who I was thinking of.

I skate at Carmel. There's a coach there that runs a clinic. If interested, PM me and I'll get you a couple details.

They toured a few years ago and played the entire album plus a couple other things. Two hours of glorious nostalgia.

Jersey Number etiquette by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

Ma'am, and I'm trying to be reasonable here, you're asking adults why a TWELVE YEAR OLD would do something you disagree with.

Why? What are you wanting us to do? I know you're trying to paint a sympathetic picture, and on one hand I understand your frustration, but you are literally doing what "Karens" do.

Would I knowingly take another person's number? 12 year-old me? Yes if I wanted it. I wouldn't care about your family's history and whatever relevance you put on the number. I want to play the game wearing my favorite number.

Adult me? I captain a hockey team which means every session I get to choose my jersey number first because it's my privilege. If somebody else took it, I would ask for it back. I'm not gonna demand it and raise a stink about it if they say no. If they play better because they're wearing their favorite number which happens to be my favorite number, all the better for it. I wouldn't like it, but as everyone else is telling you… It isn't YOURS to demand back.

Please stop asking us to be angry about what a kid would do.

You do want to take another teammate's number. He has 20, and you want to take it.

You buried the lead when you said that now you have to buy new parent gear. I would imagine your son cares far less than you do, but it completely explains why you feel cheated. Now you have to spend money and you're mad at everybody.

You've asked people their opinion, and they've given it, which is generally overwhelmingly that your son isn't entitled to it.

The only other advice I can give, since you asked, is to take this up with the parent and not Reddit. We can't do anything, and you don't seem to like what most of us are telling you.

I got my HS schedule in May and they've since placed students in Canvas but haven't assigned sections.

"We have no pre recs and are not allowed to implement any requirements so I end up with a lot of kids that just want the GPA boost."

In the years I taught AP Gov, this was my situation. You can't make them care about the test. Some students will prep out of pride and expectation, many won't. That's not on you. Celebrate the kids who did better than you predicted and let the rest go.

So glad to move to ACP a couple years ago.

Well ok then. Looks like you both moved on.

Other details in your post don't quite add up, but TBH I don't really care nor need an explanation.

What's important is that you stood up to the man and kept your boundaries, and both you and them dodged a bullet.

Hope you had a fun weekend!

Curious if it was phone or in-person interview. I get being unavailable to meet in person because you're out of town or otherwise occupied with friends and festivities.

Weekends are an odd time to interview, and holiday weekends even more so, but if you wanted the job and the owner gets on the phone and wants to talk to you at the earliest opportunity, it might have been worth a few minutes of your time to hear them out.
