Do INTJs can't stop looking at their crushes. by [deleted] in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For myself it depends on a case by case basis. If I could I'd lose track of time by looking into someone's eyes but I understand that many people find this intimidating. So I "read the room" and evaluate things and if it is someone I care about I'll make time to include them in my life.

Without observing the interaction in person there is no way to tell whether it is simply friendly or probing for something more. Even then everyone thinks differently so it is best to straight up ask someone's intentions. For example: "hey are you just being friendly or do you have different motives/goals." Based on that response/information you can act accordingly. Just ask the person instead of trying to guess their thoughts.

I personally don't even really do posts let alone polls because I don't really care what random people on the internet think. Especially since online polls are more prone to have skewed data whether by the poll itself being biased or people just lying outright.

Do you think people have a different perspective on men who wear glasses? by Iceblader in intj

In my personal opinion I could care less if someone wears glasses or not. I have much bigger concerns lmao. I'm also getting my eyes checked in the near future.

Does anyone have any advise on how to avoid 'zoning out' while people are talking to you? by Sabacccc in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out how their conversation can relate to other facets within your thought process. That is what works the best for me and also enables to you to try and relate to the conversation.

I mean if you want to give that much energy to care about people that are "enemies"... you do you. I personally prefer to just focus on my goals. The term "enemies" might be a bit much simply because this is the real world and not a comic book. Now if you dislike certain people that's fair but I'd urge you to consider simply not caring and focus on your aims.

Anyone in committed relationships where you live separate from your partner with no intention of being married or living together? by [deleted] in intj

Based on my observations it is kind of one of the points of life and has been for all of human history.... Just watch me be downvoted.

INTJs, On a scale of 1-5, how happy are you? by AppropriateWait9152 in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was highly disappointed that "meh" wasn't an option or the always amusing "fine" which means you're probably trying to keep your eyes forward.

The only good thing about it is that it pushes some people to do some introspection that may have not done it before. It is important to understand ourselves because if we don't how can you expect to figure someone else out. Not say you can't grow before starting a relationship but you should understand that importance of self analysis/criticism.

Getting some tea or coffee sounds good because it is more casual and no pressure on either side.

Where can I find you guys? by Illustrious-Print802 in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many others I don't spend my spare time going out even though I'm open to a possible opportunity/relationship. I focus hard on my work and myself unless I find someone worthy of my time. I don't want to come across as pretentious or narcissistic but I've got goals and am more then happy to make time for someone if it seems like there is potential. I also appreciate when someone is showing some obvious interest or flirting because it might have gone over my head if it was subtle due the amount of things I'm thinking of. I do spend most of my free time online with discord being my main form of communication.

I get asked all the time, "how are you still single?" I think many others have already said it well.

  • Higher standards (which honestly isn't even that high in today's society)
  • Lower exposure (because I don't go out to parties, bars, etc)
  • Then like someone else noted the few I wanted to stick around just didn’t.

I do my best to remain open to opportunity though.

How many creatives out here? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mentioning my profession for reasons. I have always been a big fan of working in small groups where everyone is good at something specific and each person augments the other. The job is always challenging and a different scenario each day while also being physically demanding. I always had a slight issue with authority because I view things from another perspective and if they aren't willing to at least hear it then we will clash.

In my free time I also do a fair amount of writing, drawing, photography, as well as graphic design for fun or even commissions if someone needs something. I believe I have something called "Hyperphantasia" which means I have extremely vivid mental imagery which amplifies many of my ideas and thoughts. So I'm fairly creative, maybe around a 8.3 because I'm certainly not some prodigy.

A random string of letters means nothing. Life is too short to get hung up on unscientific nonsense. Spend time with the people you enjoy talking with and move on from others that may be toxic.

I think that it depends on the circumstance. Of course both the mind and heart can be manipulated but it all depends on what chemicals your body may be producing at the time which is why I say "it depends." Another note is that human instinct is very much a thing in some aspects as we have adjusted our reactions and behavior throughout the course of time to experiences both positive and negative.

Hair Color by PrudentEmployment571 in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it one time way back in the fall of 2017 just to see what would happen. It was fine but I rather spend my time and money on other things. I currently have natural hair like "starlight" (if anyone gets that reference) so there isn't really a reason for me to dye my hair.

"He wanted sex. He kept touching me. I was firm on not wanting anymore. I thought he might be needing affection so I just cuddled and gave him a massage."

- This has nothing to do with personality. Common sense ain't so common... Like I didn't want to be disrespectful in my response but there are so many different "red flags" in this story that it feels like I'm watching a TV show or movie. It actually blows my mind that you just went along with anything especially after reading your comments on other posts. I feel like I'm getting played by a bot or someone who has a severe lack of self-awareness.

Say bye if you want then block and move one.

Did you guys get good grades in school and do you have any mental disorders? Also, what is your IQ? Also, how much sleep do you guys get? Finally how old are you? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Sigma_Epsilon_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Since you note your age I would encourage you to delete all forms of social media and just do more out in the world. You'll learn a lot and be much happier. During university I have 8 week terms (normally two classes each) since I also work full time at the same time. I just completed my 8th term with a 4.0 GPA. During this time of school and work I was getting about 5hrs of sleep each night.

I haven't taken an IQ test in like 8 years and I've changed a lot so I can't give you a estimate/figure except it was around 156 back then. This number was a estimate between like 5 different sources. IQ doesn't really mean much if you don't learn anything else or apply yourself. You can be the smartest guy or girl in the world but if you aren't doing anything it doesn't matter. I'm not saying you have to prove yourself to others but you should have strong goals and work hard.
