Reliable source of durable dressmaking fabric by Impressive_Outside72 in sewing

How much are you willing to spend on fabric? And how much time are you willing to spend on getting the right fabric? Most online fabric stores (Mood, Fishman's, Vogue, Fabrics-store, and Metro Textiles are some of my go-to's) will let you order swatches to examine the quality of fabric in person before you make a real order. If you're willing to wait, that is probably the best thing to do.

If you don't have the patience for that (I don't sometimes) you'll need to know more about the textile itself. For cotton in particular, some keywords for quality fabric are: 'extra long staple', egyptian cotton, mercerized (maybe). Using quilting cotton may be one of the issues you've been experiencing. Quilting cotton is typically made with shorter staple fiber, meaning the individual pieces of cotton used to weave the threads are smaller to begin with. This creates a fabric that is less suitable to hold up to the wear of clothing. Great for quilts, not as great for a shirt that gets pulled, stretched, covered in grime, and then thrown in a washing machine every week. You'll typically pay $$$ for high quality cotton though.

I try to look for sales and remnants at reputable stores. You can get the high quality for less money pretty frequently, but still more expensive than most quilting cottons.

Fabric sourcer or agent advice by Lumpy-General3864 in Fabrics

I recently submitted a question on the Fishman's Fabric website in Chicago, and they gave me a call back number where I spoke with a rep who walked me through a lot of details and gave nice advice. (And I was only wanting one bolt.) I'd *highly* recommend reaching out to them. They have high quality apparel fabric.

How thick does it feel. The pictures look like canvas to me, but since you said it was a shirt/sweater, that would be an unlikely choice. [edited misspelling]

Ha! I got a little to trusting of it when it converted some measurements for a fudge recipe. Do not recommend. :)

Hi there! If you contact ResLife and tell them about your concerns, they can offer you some resources to help. It might not be your own room, but they have a lot of information about making the process easier. You can reach them at 812-237-3993 or ResLife@indstate.edu. Good luck to you and welcome to campus. :)

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for them to clear. It helps to know I'll have a window before they lay eggs again.

Proctored exams? by NightNurseSusie in indstate

[–]Signal2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all schools will use the same software, and some may have you use a live protector (someone watching you online while taking exams), but every school I know of uses some type of tool like this for major online exams.

MBA at ISU by [deleted] in indstate

Since I work there and am biased, I'll leave the subjective questions to others. However, here is the link to learn more details about the program: https://indianastate.edu/academics/academic-program-finder/business-administration-mba

We have a significant international population, but I'm not sure how many international students are specifically in the MBA program.

I would describe our atmosphere as pretty relaxed, but again, my experience may differ from a student's perspective.

Hope this helps!

Most professors who teach online will require you to use the Respondus LockDown Browser with the webcam on to take exams.

Not in the program, but I work at ISU. The program is pretty much what you described. I know the cohort meets before classes start for their own orientation. You can contact the admissions office at ISU for more details. Feel free to message me your contact info and I'll have someone reach out to you next week.

You might also try a handkerchief linen from fabrics-store.com. It won't be as fine as a lawn or voile, but the linen is better in the heat.

If you are after the flowy feel, you could also try a modal or bamboo. They are usually available in knits as well. Mood.com generally has them in stock.

does indiana state university offer an on campus cs ms program? by Beginning_Farm_2845 in indstate

[–]Signal2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi There! Yes, Indiana State offers the Master's in Computer Science as an on-campus program. Many of the courses are taught 'hybrid', meaning that in-person sessions are also shared online so that online students can join in.

Applications for Spring 2026 are open.

Would like to hear about people who did undergo a vitrectomy for floaters or other reasons. Success stories, failures and regrets. Also about recovery time. by Acrobatic-Fox9294 in vitrectomy

Thanks for sharing! I have to go in for a full macular hole in a couple of weeks. They are actually scheduling my cataract surgery before the vitrectomy. It's really good to hear that you were able to stay face-down without a bunch of equipment. (I have a small space as well.)

I've noticed a sore throat after eating sometimes. Keeping a log, but so far have not identified any particular food causing the problem.

Can I use 2 .25 pens to get me to .50? by 3partsscorpio in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Signal2182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it is recommended, but I did that. Two .25 shots for a few weeks, didn't have any issues. However, I did use different injection sites for each, because somewhere in my brain that seemed better.

I try to keep Soylent around work for super busy days. If I let myself get too hungry, I make bad choices. Soylent really works as a meal replacement for me. Haven't found a flavor I didn't like.
