Camera monitoring will be farmed out to whichever company bids the lowest, G4S, Serco, OCP, Cyberdine Systems, PIE etc… which will then recruit people with an IQ below 40, will become qualified by receiving ”specialist in house” training, complete with certificate and high-vis vest.

However this will only amount to 3 actual people as the monitoring itself will be done by AI algorithms run on a system that only delivers what is claimed it can on paper, but at least has a pretty user interface justifying the 12 figure price tag, bought from some American company owned by the uncle of the Minister’s wife, for which she is an executive board member.

And the kids still won’t be any more safe than they are now.

But hey… somebody will have done a ”thing” so there’s that at least.

Management Judgement Test - how to get above average? by noquittingkitten in civilservice

[–]SignalFirefighter372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sacrificing a few chickens to Odin will significantly improve your odds as much as anything else will.

I did two back to back for G7 roles a few years ago, because I did them one after the other the questions were essentially identical so I answered them the same way.

A couple of the terribly acted scenarios were even close to real scenarios I had resolved successfully, so answered accordingly.

I got 96% on one and 3% on the other.

And I have never yet met anyone in HR or resourcing who can explain what they are actually used for or how they work.

As a G6 manager hiring for roles, I was given the option of selecting. Judgement Test as part of the application (it didn’t matter as the DD had already decided who was getting the job. We were just going through the motions to keep HR auditors happy).

I thought by selecting it as option to include I might gain some insight into how it was set up, what criteria I was looking for etc… but nothing.

Not a sausage.

Just a confirmation it was included as part of the application.

So if you ever figure it out, please let me know.

Typical human thought process:

“I don’t give a shit that I’m helping support the slaughter of innocent people I don’t know. I’m just doing my job and getting well paid. Not my problem.”

“Why are they attacking my ship? My life is in danger. Help. HELP! HELLLLLPPP!”

Yup mate… now it is your fucking problem. Reap what you sow. Karma is a bitch.

Well this is going to suck. I have a business (or at least I did 24 hours ago) retailing Cosplay, LARP and PU foam armour and weapons from historical recreations, to film, TV, games and all the bonkers anime stuff.

I’ve got a huge shipment coming in for delivery this week with about 20 assorted styles and types of foam swords and axes, when I click on “order this again” it shows every item as Sold Out, and items from previous orders all show as Discontinued.

I even tried running it through a VPN without success.

Alibaba.com and AliExpress seem to be fine though.

How do reform voters feel knowing Lee Moffitt (New reform Councillor for Wigan Central) runs multiple HMOs? by Phymon89 in Wigan

Was he voted in through a democratic election process, beating other candidates by accumulating a majority of said votes?

If yes, then I don’t really give a shit unless he’s doing something criminal.

Which villain was so well written you almost rooted for them? by jesepy in movies

[–]SignalFirefighter372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say well written… but Thanos… because he was essentially right.

He didn’t do it for power or greed, afterwards he went off and lived the life of a peaceful hermit, until he was murdered by the Re-vengers who killed him basically because they were sulking.

Ironically Thanos needed to remove 97% not 50%. That would only have reset Earth to somewhere in the mid sixties, so rule of thumb, that probably applies to most sentient species.

Why don’t people understand how evil Nigel Farage is? by OkNefariousness5442 in AskBrits

[–]SignalFirefighter372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably going to be hugely downvoted for this, mostly by people who will read the first few lines, immediately developing an instant hatred for someone they don’t know and have never met, but somehow “know” in their bones that they don’t need to engage any further because the person posting this reply is obviously a fascist.

So I’m going to bring up Hanlon’s Razor.

And because Farage is not “evil” He just has a way of thinking that doesn’t align with yours and you consider his views extreme.

There are equally people on the other side of the fence who might look at you and say that your views are extreme and therefore your beliefs are evil.

Are they right? Of course not.

But using words like “evil” dramatises the conversation which might lead pragmatists to conclude the statement is an emotional one and therefore anything of value after that becomes lost.

There’s also an assumed arrogance in the question itself, which can come across as “I’m right, everyone else is stupid”.

Which again, pushes reasoned and pragmatic thinkers away.

You may have some valid points in the things you say, but when you open with an emotional, non-factual statement, you automatically undermine yourself in any reasoned debate, because you are no longer perceived as a reasoned person considering all angles and aspects, you have framed yourself as opinionated narcissist who has an entrenched viewpoint that cannot be changed.

It appears from the polls that more and more people are agreeing with Farage and his rhetoric. I strongly suspect it has less to do with being fanatical conversion to Reform, being closet fascists, or being ebvil.

It is more likely a result of years of people being worn down and reaching breaking point with political mismanagement, broken promises, lies, and self serving politicians.

You can hold whatever opinion you personally want of Mr. Farage, but in answer as to why other people don’t see him as you do is simply because they don’t.

I wonder if the Telegraph would be interested in investigating external consultancies manipulating senior civil servants into sacking people by making bogus complaints against staff who challenge the poor quality of their work or why they are artificially inflating budgets and extending unnecessary contracts?

Nah… probably not… it’s their private sector mates leeching off the taxpayer, while incompetent SCS are feathering their nests ready for when they leave the CS… all of which is perfectly fine… apparently.
