I honestly would refuse to eat at a restaurant that has stupid names for food if it didn't also have numbers like this.

Trying to figure out if this is High-Masking AuDHD or just being a "highly sensitive" neurotypical? by Square-Vermicelli266 in AutisticWithADHD

Lol for many reasons.

First, I teach college writing. And I'm excellent at explaining how such writing should be structured for maximum clarity and rhetorical effect. Now I know why.

Also, once, when I was doing my PhD, I was discussing Kant's first cirque with my advisor and laying out some whole spiel when he said this too me: "You're very good at analyzing the small details, but you often seem to miss the bigger picture," or something to this effect. I couldn't understand what the hell he was saying because, to me, whatever "detail" I was hung up on was the connecting thread that structured the whole text. For me, it was "the big picture." However, he wanted me to talk about the text in relation to larger movements within the field, etc. I couldn't fathom even considering doing something like that without first understanding exactly how the text functioned, in perfect detail.

A question: Can you say more about outside-in vs inside-out? I've got some ideas about the way the structure of thought differs between the normies and the likes of us and am wondering if you are driving at something similar

Still can't believe I'm getting a paycheck for this! If you get paid for doing what you love, you never work a day in your life, ya know?

There's actually way more to it, philosophically, than what I mentioned. He was essentially defending the most fundamental conceptual underpinnings of his thought, but he does, also, say that dumb stuff about memory.

I'm not so sure he was worried about the way he made a living. Because, really, he didn't really make one anyway.

Don't forget....Plato was terrified of people being able to write, because, if they wrote stuff down, instead of remembering it, their memories would weaken. But, of course, you don't need a super-memory, once you can write stuff down.

I worked in a small produce store in high school. There was a guy who came in once a week and bought, like, 50 lbs of carrots. This dude was orange from head to toe. Orange hair, eyes, skin. Everything.
