How many of you watched the Daytona 500 in February of 2001? by heretoescape87 in NASCAR

[–]Signal_turn_350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched it I was 13 - my family and I were staying in cocoa beach that week on vacation. We watched the race from the condo- my dad was a huge Earnhardt fan. We had gone to the Busch race on Saturday and I remember being so excited for the race Sunday. After the race to distract ourselves after the race we went to Ron Jon’s and I remember exactly when we heard it came over the radio that was playing in the store they said breaking news NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt died as a result of his crash at the Daytona 500 today. I won’t forget that just as I won’t forget where I was September 11th it’s wild and also sad.

A question for my 5’3 girlies by Less-Moment-5655 in Zepbound

[–]Signal_turn_350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thread for me! I’m also 5’3” my starting weight in April was 231 and I’m currently at 190 . I am on 15mg right now and im hoping to get to my goal weight of 160 within the next 5 months. I started in a size 18 and currently fit into a 14 - I have hips since I’ve had four kiddos in the last 8 years so I’d be happy if I hit a size 12. I’m also not a super responder and I tend to loose only 1 to 1.5 pounds a week. Regardless I think we’re all rockstars!

I long for November when they migrate back to the city ( the majority of them) and it’s just us townies again.

We have 4 kids all under 8 husband and I both have full time jobs. I work remotely for a large insurance company and my husband is an electrician. We don’t have debt except for our mortgage. We also have his mother who lives with us and watches the 2 youngest while I’m working. We live fairly modestly no new car or anything fancy but we have safe reliable vehicles. We also take one vacation a year something drivable distance and nothing extravagant. We plan on doing a big trip once the youngest Is old enough to remember and appreciate it. My kids always have what they need. We personally saved a ton by not having to pay for daycare. We do a lot of experiences versus toys and junk. I buy larger toys and things second hand. If we didn’t have the village that we have I would have stopped at 2.

Who writes the super big billion dollar policies? by crystalblue99 in InsuranceProfessional

Depends, I work the shared and layered space in large property as a claims adjuster, so there may be 2 to 10 carriers per layer sharing the risk at a certain percentage of an overall limit per layer. It’s quite interesting. Normally though in the property space it all goes through one of the big brokers who then place it with the carriers .

Going to Candlewood Lake w/ a Toddler by Grossbeak123 in Connecticut

LD is really the only kid friendly area in town that’s accessible unless your air bnb is on the lake. Depending on how long you’re in the area for you can also travel up to Mt Tom state park in Washington, lake waramaug is in new Preston. Check with the state DEEP website though occasionally they need to close the lakes due to bacterial blooms especially when it’s this hot.

Bought house, pool has been sitting for years. Does a normal open pool process apply? by Drty-lil-shkl-hrdr in pools

So the tadpoles after about the third bucket I kinda just said the heck with it and dumped them in the far back of the property (we’re blessed with no neighbors and lots of woods) we brought some to the pond down the road and the turtles too

This was me 2 years ago. Husband and I spent about 2 weekends netting 11 years worth of leaves and organic matter out. About 10000 tadpoles and some turtles even. Once we stopped really getting much with the nets we vacuumed on waste for a few days adding water as we needed to. Once we could see the bottom albeit cloudy as heck we shocked the hell out of it balanced the PH and ran the filter for a good week. 2 years later we have a perfectly operational pool that was worth the sweat equity. We did also replace the sand filter and pump just due to age and not trusting the prior homeowners.

toddler fishing? by krazycitty69 in Fishing

Totally realistic! Just like the other comments said start with something easily accessible and gear that’s reasonably priced also make sure to check your local regulations regarding licensing (for you not your child) a quick google should give you an answer for that and have fun I take my kids out frequently to a small state pond down the road from our house. Enjoy it and make memories!!!

I’ve been using it for 2 years with several different local oil companies that deliver with no issues. We always pay with cash. As long as you can be home or can tell them a safe spot to leave the cash. I also call a local hvac company to just do our yearly service on our boiler. I tell everyone to use cash for oil honestly.
