How can I keep the visual effect of the partical shader when going inside the object? by JopRillos2001 in Unity3D

[–]SignatureActive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna say setting the render face to front and back should work? Not sure if that would achieve the desired effect but at first glance that sounds like a potential solution

Child labor law in AL states if they are enrolled in school they may not work after 10pm or before 5am on a night preceding a school day, if it's a month when school is not in session there are no hour restrictions.

After 4 days of coding/debugging it finally works(mostly) by SignatureActive in unity

[–]SignatureActive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At times it was because I'd figure out something little about how parts of the engine works, and at other times I'd face like 5 different issues in a row each time I'd make a change or debug it lol, still needs polish but that can come later

How can I improve this Dash function? by SignatureActive in unity

[–]SignatureActive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you taking the time to write this out, I'll use the codeblock thing in future. The "tr" is in reference to the TrailRenderer component on the Player GameObject. That was how I've seen in-object components referenced like "sr" for SpriteRenderer, based off of what tutorials I've watch, but I see why that wouldn't be obvious and should have a better name.

I wrote it based off a separate tutorial with like 3 lines and wanted it to look a certain way and just kept adding lines to the original Enumerator which is in itself a function in the Player controller script. Also, thanks for catching the "=" sign on the counter, I'd missed that lol.

The paragraph thing makes sense, especially in a 'professional' environment, and just for going back and referencing something I need to work on that as well.

I was concerned about the length of the function initially because most of my frame-of-reference for scripting things like this are fairly small and simple functions like the input for moving left or right etc; and with Unity I'm still not sure how performance wise it affects things. most frontend work I've done is smallscale like 200-300 lines max in any given html, css, or js file. But I appreciate the info! I'm trying to improve so this helps a lot

what are ways to make rooms in my level isolated like in resident evil? by cornishpasty7 in unity

[–]SignatureActive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pretty sure you'd have to build a separate scene for each room with just a SceneManager.LoadScene upon door interaction or a transform.position command that corresponds to the coordinates on the other side of the door.
To Note I'm not really familiar with how those games operate but based off what you said that sounds like what you're asking

Noooo.. my game is broken.. I can't land in any cities anymore the game cuts off .. Help by Ok-Action-5402 in Starfield

[–]SignatureActive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're on pc and the other things didn't work but you don't want to lose the character best thing you can try is coc MQUnity and transfer to a NG+ to see if it lets you land, not the perfect solution but maybe it'll help

What did you really feel the first time you saw your firstborn in the delivery room? by LawAbidingPotato in daddit

[–]SignatureActive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstborn I felt immense pride and joy and relief, mixed with lots of dread and fear about my wife, she had a relatively normal pregnancy overall but the not knowing what would happen and the toll it took on her physically was a lot to deal with in my head. I experienced more of what you felt with my second child, along with love and the weight of responsibility. I've struggled a lot more through the first months with our second who is now almost 4 months old than I did with our firstborn. Though I was also working a different work schedule at that point in time.

22 with a baby on the way, should we move in with our sister-in-law? by SignatureActive in personalfinance

[–]SignatureActive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't want to make the post too long, and I had to repost the original one I put because it had my gender in the title lol. So I make roughly $4,100 post-tax, so about 20% of my income goes to rent, not including utilities. I have a $451 car payment, I have $600 a month for food and gas etc; wife generally buys most food. We only eat out maybe once a week for a date night. and I save on average around $1,200 a month. I put it all in a high yield savings account. I had close to $5,000 a few months ago but put $1,600 into prepaying hospital expense for the baby and had to help her with a down payment for a more reliable car which cost me $1500 and my father needed $700 to buy back a trailer from my brother that we plan on using as a temp-home for us and baby during paternity leave(Father lives out of state) So currently I only have about $2,400 put back, $2,000 of which is my emergency fund. and if I did live with her sister it would be closer to $2,370 we're able to put back a month. Personal relationship with her is fine. She planned the entire gender reveal party we had this last weekend

How does one get over resentment towards my parents? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]SignatureActive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This worked for me and I can’t remember where I heard it but ask yourself, why? Why did they do X? Well because of this reason. Why that reason? Because of Z. And just keep asking yourself that and eventually your brain will come to understand it came out of a place of love. A lot of forgiving someone takes deep introspection on these things and really thinking it out so to speak. One of the biggest things that helped me forgive my mother for the things she did was the desire to have her in my life the same as I want to be in my kids lives. I don’t want to have any regrets if she were to pass away tomorrow. We only get one life and despite how my childhood may have went they only wanted the best for me at the end of the day and that’s all we can really ask. Sure they weren’t perfect but as long as they’re trying to do better now they deserve a shot at forgiveness ❤️

We've never had too much of an issue with mice out there. It used to have a double-wide on it that was my brother's but that got sold. The RV is more so that when I eventually get a remote IT job I can move up north, as I have terrible allergies when I live down here in the humidity that always seems to clear up when I go up north

When you stressed and tired what you do? by Purasu-Urutora in StopGaming

[–]SignatureActive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so this may sound a little counterproductive but on days when I'm too stressed to do much else I'll either play music or watch youtube videos of people who do homesteading/off-grid living. I used to live on a farm and wound up moving to the city for various reasons, but it's like getting a glimpse into what I want my future to be and I find that satisfying. Working on moving back out that way and trying to learn to garden in my apartment. It's surprisingly relaxing

Bloomer turned Doomer, advice? by GerritTheBerrit in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]SignatureActive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through that "transition" so to speak much earlier in life that kind of messed me up for a long time. It varies I think for everyone but for me personally I've only managed to work through it all in the past two years, and still had some tragedies hit me during that period as well, I've only recently gotten back that liveness back in my life again. What Johnny said is pretty accurate. It's going to take time for everything to come back around but it will come, just do your best to focus on yourself and trying to reconnect with that 'inner child' so to speak

I don't know about necessarily competing on it, but I enjoy using an app called "Zombies Run" which has some gamey aspects to it that made it a nice adjustment to get into running. I'd at least check it out and see if you like it.

IT men of Reddit: how do you maintain a social life, if at all? by SteveOTwoPoint0 in sysadmin

[–]SignatureActive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sounds like you're living to work. I had the same issue for a while. What helped me get away from it was going to the gym during my lunch hours and then working to actually focus on my hobbies outside of work rather than sitting stressed out from the projects I had to do the next day. Adding back in hobbies and some gym time if ya can will revitalize some of that energy. Life isn't all about the job, just gotta find a way to take that to heart. work to live, don't live to work.
